I have been thru the ringer with my 3.0 EcoDiesel . I came from old school with the GMC 6.2 diesel in the 80's I thought na diesel would be great to have again. I purchased my Grand Cherokee 2 years ago next November, it had 111,000 miles on it. When I looked under the hood before my test drive I saw the coolant reservoir was black spotted color. I thought very interesting plastic. I have the jeep into the dealer for a fuel contamination issue (gas in the DEF tank). My insurance covered all but my deductible. About 2 weeks later I get a check engine lite, the code was never stated however I was told it was under warranty. It had to do with the intake manifold. While I was awaiting the return of my Jeep the mech/tech, sent me a video of the oil dripping of the end of his screw driver in my coolant reservoir. I was quoted 7K to repair. The repair was to replace all my hoses, the Radiator, the engine oil-cooler, heater core / AC condenser, and then flush the system after the parts were installed. I explained that I couldn't understand the flush after new parts were installed. The manager decided we could try to just flush it out 2 or three times of three visits. That still cost me $ 2400. Now a leak in my coolant has caused me to return to a dealership closer to my home. The starting estimate was $ 1440 labor, and parts to be determined ( I checked out a You tube Video). It seemed like it could have been the Turbo coolant line. I shared that with the service advisor when I called, The service supervisor's first estimate was $ 1595.00 plus the hose or o-ring. I gave the go a head to proceed and was called the next day and told, there was more wrong. A bad EGR cooler, bad Turbo, and more hoses. $ 5153.53 out the door with the oil change and DEF top off. I asked about the 40K extended warranty and the price dropped $ 1595 after checking the parts against the warranty numbers. After all the videos I want to delete the EGR and tune it out. Where can I go? I just was browsing the welcome at the bottom page. Yeah, my jeep is welcome!!!
