Making my ecodiesel happy

I only have 1000 miles driving my 17 ecodiesel but hours and hours reading about it. Some say “drive it like an old farm truck” some say “work it hard”.
So, assuming I am driving at 70 mph, no wind, perfectly level what RPM would make my Diesel engine happy. In automatic my RPM would be right around 2000, every truck I’ve owned would be there. If I shift manually I can make my RPM what ever I want above that. What is the sweet spot to run with best RPM, MPG and get the best regen cleaning? Is there such a spot or is the answer “shut up and drive?”

Between 60 & 70 highway will give you good mileage. Don't worry about the RPM's. The trans. knows what to do.
