Hey y’all. Just bought my truck about a week ago now. I got it out of necessity and the price point. I traded my 5.7 challenger for it so unfortunately I’m a little bitter I had to give up my toy for practicality. So far I’ve noticed a ridiculous amount of turbo lag. The real question I have is how do I fix this. I’m not used to having a great amount of distance to pull out into traffic. The boost doesn’t kick in till it crosses the street on a left hand turn

The best fix is a Stage 1 tune from either GDE or EOC (MRT)
The cheapest, less effective fix is a throttle booster/controller device

GDE is 49 state EPA compliant, it does not shut off the EGR.
EOC is the distributor for the MRT tunes. It is in Canada and shuts off the EGR if that is important to you, it is important to a lot of us.

I have noticed most responses here use initials and abbreviations quite a bit. For us old folks please be clear what you are talking about. We may not be able to physically do the repairs but we want to be informed so we can recognize scams and shoddy work.
thanks

I notice you referenced my post with five very common initials and abbreviations for the discussed subject.
Two thoughts go through my mind. One is if you don't know, ask, I'd be happy to help. The other is I learned by researching and Googling before I asked. I don't know where you fit in for "us old folks", I'm 88 and still learning.

GDE =https://greendieselengineering.com/
EOC = https://ecodiesel-owners-canada-performance-parts.square.site/
MRT = https://mrtuning.ca/
EPA = https://www.epa.gov/
EGR = https://dieselnet.com/tech/engine_egr.php#:~:text=Exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) is an emission control technology allowing,, two-stroke marine engines.

Example, the five sites took less than 10 minutes to find and record

Thanks for the info. Here’s two points: 1. Those initials

Sorry I lost it. 1. Those initials may be common to you but not so for owners that aren’t familiar with these engines.
2. As far as googling or investigating I can do that as I do quite often. But I will offer this to you, if your goal is to help us owners then be a little clearer and precise. Otherwise carry on with your methods and feel good about it.
Again thanks for your response and the assistance you provide us. I was simply attempting to suggest something that might make things easier to understand.

Thanks for your suggestion. My old folk reply to another old folk goes like this.
I was answering the poster, not you. If you post a question I'll try to remember to be "a little clearer and precise"
Cheers

I really do appreciate your answer. It didn’t take a couple minutes of searching to find out what you were talking about. GDE really thinks something of their tunes. I’ll probably go that route but I’ll need to save up the discretionary funds first. My wife may have a little something to say spending a bit over one thousand dollars on a tune lol.

Wow I thought Challenger owners were bad. I hope this isn’t a representation of the entire site

I think you will be pleasantly surprised with GDE's tunes. They have been the go-to tuner for a long time. Like other tuners, they were shut down by the EPA. They rebounded with a new EPA-approved emmissions-compliant tune (It is not Califunny CARB approved) that gets great reviews. GDE is the only tuner to have an EPA-approved tune. It is probably the cleanest burning tune meaning less soot to clog the exhaust system filters which results in less Active Regenerations.

I would also suggest you get their TCU (Transmission Control Unit) tune for better tranny shift points and performance.

Yes, I agree, a lot of money but well worth the benefits. It will make your Eco come to life.

Not sure what you mean. You referenced a member's post with a legitimate observation and request.
How is that bad?
