Hey all,
About a month and a half ago I did the EOC stage 2 delete on my 2016 ED Ram 1500, at just shy of 300k km. (Motor was replaced a 110k km) About 1 1/2 was after the delete I get a kow oil pressure warning and the truck stalls when I got to start it. I try a few more times and it eventually starts up. Long story short...its happened several times since. No codes. I did an oil change, fuel filter change, changed to oil pressure switch out and added a mechanical oil pressure gauge that shows me 20psi at idle when warm. There is no pattern to this problem. Tank full/empty/half, doesn't make a difference. Cold/Hot....same thing. Truck had the W58 update before I got the tune, so that was integrated into my stage 2 tune. Engine runs smooth and sounds fine, when it decides to run. No oil leaks, no metal in the oil filter. Haven't pulled the pan, but the fact that I'm getting good oil pressure leads me to believe the pickup tube isnt plugged.
What I'm thinking is the check valve in the oil filter housing. Has anyone had a problem like this and linked it to the check valve? Ive had a lot of people say "it's the lift pump, or it's the tone ring" which are both expensive repairs, especially when Im not getting any trouble codes.
Any thoughts...
Constructive opinions always welcomed.
