Recall EGR cooler - susceptible to thermal fatique

I had it blocked off for almost a year without any issues. I just had the recall done yesterday to fix the leaking intercooler. Im not an expert but just stating what I did without issue. I told the tech at the dealer what I did and to remove the 2 plates , he just said ok, no problem. I did not have them reinstalled as the leak should now be fixed.
