Source for quality CV axles?

I had my front passenger side cv axle implode. I didn't catch a tear in the boot, the grease vanished and what happens happened. I was able to install a new one relatively easily, but the new part has already gotten another tear in (3 months post install), and what grease is left in the boot is quite silver. Is this something that is possible to fix with a boot kit, or would I be better off getting a whole new part.
