Before you go changing out glow plugs, try moving the connector on the plug - twisting, push/pull, etc. Then reset the code and see if it comes back. All this does is ensure the electrical connection is good. I have had two separate glow plugs pop a code, I did this and the code never returned. The truck starts just fine, even in winter.
Sounds like they didn't improve much in areas that should last longer and perform better for one of the vital components on our vehicles. This is a bit frustrating.This is true for the 2nd gen EcoDiesel (2014 - 2019). The 3rd gen EcoDiesel (2020 - 2023) is a different type of glow plug and are prone to fail much sooner than the 2nd gen plug.
