So I have a 2015 3.0L ecodiesel that is leaking around the timing chain cover. The truck shutoff on me with an oil pressure low on the dash. I was just wondering is this a DIY job or am I gonna have to spend the money and take it to the dealer?

Depends on how well you inow the eco and can you raise the cab....lots of variables with these newer motors...

Is raising the cab necessary? Labor times don't seem to indicate that the cab would come off. I'm a Kia technician that has recently bought a 2017 eco ram. I noticed some seepage from my cover . I also noticed during cold starts there is a coolant type smell . No loss of coolant I can see but none the less I do smell a weird smell on cold starts. I'm in Ny and it's been in the teens or low 20s in the mornings.

Any luck figuring out the reason for the seepage?

No being a mechanic I just took a peek and seen it leaking from one of the front covers and said I'll deal with it later .Drivers side upper I think. Unless your cover is really pissing oil and it ran low I don't think the cover leak has anything to do with the light and shutting down. You'd also have a huge oil mess from that kind of leak. I suspect an oil pump problem or pressure issue. Oil filter possibly? Did you have the oil change right before this happened?
