Does anyone have suggestions for a replacement water feed tube? I saw a braided metal version somewhere online, but there was no information for it. I understand that the rubber tube that comes from the factory will fail over time. Looking for a good replacement. I'm not leaking coolant at this time, but wanted to go after it as a preventative measure.

I went with the Dorman braided one-piece line when mine failed a few years ago. The big difference is how much work to install. Since the Dorman includes both front and rear metal tubes, the turbo oil tube needs to be moved out of the way to connect the rear coolant tube to the turbo. To do this without bending the oil tube, it will need to be disconnected from near the transmission mount on the lower backside of the engine - difficult to get to, the shop had to lift my entire cab off to get to it, adding another $2k to the bill. However, I doubt it will fail again.

If I had known of the blue silicone hose at the time, I might have gone that route and saved some money - no need for cab removal. Given the silicone's temp and pressure specs, looks like it would probably last about as long as the Dorman unit.
