Z-46 Recall owners manual "addendum" re fuel filter replacement every 10K

Just had the Z-46 fuel pump replacement recall done yesterday and they left an envelope in the truck (part of the recall kit) with an "addendum" to the owners manual that "updates information on the maintenance plan, fuel requirements & fluid lubricants for your 3.0L diesel engine". The first page says "At every oil change interval as indicated by oil change indicator system" to "change fuel filter and drain water from fuel filter assembly". It also has a chart showing this should be done every 10,000 miles (16,000km) and states "failure to comply with oil change or fuel filter drain and replacement requirements (every oil change, not to exceed 10,000 miles) will result in premature engine wear. Such wear is not covered by the new vehicle limited warranty". What's up with this?? New fuel filter at every oil change seems crazy, especially when the original maintenance schedule in the owners manual lists it at every 30,000 miles. I just called the dealership and they don't know anything about this. Anybody have any thoughts or concerns?

I've also seen 30k mi in the owner's manual. Early on, I saw in forums that many were changing fuel filters at 15-20k mi and I adopted that practice. So far I've not experienced any HPFP issues - 158k currently. That being said, I put in additive every fill-up for added pump lubrication among other things. Mostly use Power Service or Howe's. Have used Hotshots on occasion as well. A new fuel filter every oil change does seem a bit excessive; Maybe RAM is using that as a way to deny further claims if you can't prove adherence to the uber-stringent requirement. I wouldn't put it past them.

My dealer mechanic advised me shortly after purchasing the truck to change the fuel filter at every oil change. I have had the oil and filters changed at 7500 mi and have never had an issue with the engine.
Sadly the fuel here in North America is not the quality they have in Europe, our fuel contains asphaltene particles that will clog injectors if the filter is let go to long.
