    New to the Group

We used to tow with a 2004 Durango with 5.7 hemi. Got about 11 mpg. With the Ecodiesel I get about 15 mpg. You're going to love towing with it.

    New to the Group

Welcome. I have a 2017 Longhorn that I use primarily for towing my 7,000 lb. travel trailer and love it. First thing I would recommend you do (if it isn't already done) is to put a GDE EPA compliant tune on it. This will make the truck run better and cleaner and is acceptable to the EPA...

    Exhaust brake

I'm sorry. I don't understand stage 1 or stage 2. The tune updates your ecm and tcm for improved drivability. And, it's EPA compliant so you're not breaking any laws or screwing up the environment. Mine is still under manufacturer's warranty and I too have a third party extended warranty...

    Exhaust brake

You'll also like the improved drivability of the tune...no hesitation, improved MPG, cleaner engine, etc. I easily get over 30 mpg on the highway, 15 mpg+ towing a 7,000 lb. trailer. Just make sure all the dealer work (recalls, etc., especially software updates) are done before getting the tune.

    Exhaust brake

It's on all the time. When going down a hill just tap your brakes and it will kick in.

    Exhaust brake

The GDE tune offers an "engine brake" option. I have that on mine and it really helps when towing. Often I don't even need to use my brakes when descending a hill.

    New gde tune

I found just the opposite for the instalation. My tool arrived Friday with absolutely no instructions. I has to go to a link I found from a post on another forum to begin the procedure. It had a link in step one to what it said was the software needed so my computer could communicate with the...

    Oil Change Interval When Towing

I bought my EcoDiesel new in January of 2018 and had the oil changed in December 2018 even though it had less than 8,000 miles on it. I'm planning a cross country camping trip this summer towing my 7,000 lb travel trailer. The computer says my oil life is 94% now and I expect it to read at...

    Hello

Thanks BoostN. Your name just reminded me that I have two turbocharged Chrysler trucks. My Ram and my Rampage. The Rampage has a 2.2l turbocharged motor out of an 85 GLH. It's a bit quicker than the Ram. Thanks again.

Thanks. I was hoping it was something like that.

    Hello

Hi all. I recently bought a new 2017 Bighorn ecodiesel and this is the first diesel I've ever owned. I usually do some minor maintenance on my vehicles but since I know nothing about working on diesel motors I'm sure I'll be relying on this group for a lot of advice. In fact, I have a...

    Hello All

Jeff from Media, Pennsylvania here. Just bought a new 2017 Ecodiesel to tow my 30' travel trailer. Only had it 4 days but like what I've experienced so far. Still getting used to all the features. Traded in a 2004 Dodge Durango and a lot has changed in 13 years. Also own a 1982 Dodge...
