I’m going with the 4” exhaust dpf delete kit from HD diesel supply, I will be removing the factory muffler and basically running 4” straight to the factory tips.
And now worries you can swap back to your factory tune quickly. Go to SFT website and watch the YouTube video he has on how simple it is to swap back and forth.
Yea I went with the SFT engine and transmission hand held tuners. Right now they are 1000$. You can go cheaper if you don’t mind not having the handhelds. And from what I have read and been told 4” mates up to the downpipe off the turbo and is a good size to let the engine breathe like it needs...
Just an update with the direction I went. I ordered the 4” exhaust for the dpf delete and the egr removal/delete from HD. I went with SFT for tuner I like the idea of having a handheld vs. swapping the ECU. I was told by HD it would take a week or so for delivery.
Thanks for all the info guys. I do like the idea of having a handheld tuner. I’m not sure which way I am going to go yet, however I agree I think either one will get the job done.
Really curious about this new SFT deal I was leaning towards the HD with a new ecm, but I like the idea of having a hand held tuner.... so with this tuner what all can I disable, track, or monitor??
Ok guys about to order the HD delete kit and I have a question or asking for recommendations on if I should add the high idle feature and the engine braking????
I was looking at going towards the SKT tune and all, but after reading everyone’s comments I think I am just going to use HD instead comes with exhaust and price is not completely outrageous. But question for anyone that has it. Did anyone opt for the engine braking and high idle features?? And...
Thanks for the help guys really appreciate the help and info. I’ll be deleting it here in the next couple of weeks to prevent the issues seems more beneficial to delete that to keep the little 24k mike warranty I got when I bought the truck.
Ok gotcha for the most part. But I bought the truck used, and I didn’t get a front cover that you are referring to. I’m in SC so it doesn’t get that cold here but nevertheless I don’t have it or really know what it is.
New to the Ram world, Just purchased a 15 Laramie Longhorn Eco with 90k. All that I have done so far is a leveling kit and SB Intake looking at my current options for deleting following some other threads here!!
Yea I was looking at sofa king seems like that’s all that’s left and I’ve heard/read a lot of good things about him. As far as the emissions update I do not have a clue I plan on taking the truck to the dealer and getting some info on it. I did look up the vin and see the same pending recall...
Ok everyone new to the eco diesel just bout a couple months ago, a 2015 with 90k. Looking to delete it, but I keep hearing rumors on how some tuners have gotten into trouble with epa or whatever. Give me the scoop on the best bang for the buck delete process!!!
