    New kid here…. DEF problems

Looks like you stumbled on to a great band-aid for the dreaded DEF message. Thanks for sharing and hoping it keeps you operational.

    New kid here…. DEF problems

Certified DEF is 33% urea, 67% water. As it ages or gets contaminated, it's potency drops. When it drops to 22% urea you will get an alarm (2016+ trucks). If it's not a DEF condition problem, it could be a clogged injector or pump, etc. Good that you have the dealer looking at it.

Lucas fuel treatment in a Ram Ecodiesel.

I didn't think you were. You were very complete, plus added your personal uses. However, he hasn't been back. Hope we didn't offend him, seems like a desirable member

Lucas fuel treatment in a Ram Ecodiesel.

I agree, his being new to the subject, I can understand his confusion. It took me awhile when I first became a diesel owner, and I made some wrong assumptions and statements as well. Hopefully we are helping him, I hope he doesn't view our responses as demeaning.

Lucas fuel treatment in a Ram Ecodiesel.

Ecodiesel never had an "additive (DEF) mixed with the diesel". Where did you hear or read that? Totally incorrect!

    Hi everyone I’m Gundo

On another forum there were 2020 owners who mentioned it and they were all ignoring it, but they didn't say why. In the past, California has made the Emissions recalls mandatory, or they would not register the vehicle. Haven't heard anything yet regards this recall, it may be too new.

Anyone with good reports of an EcoDiesel?

It won't even know that bass boat is back there. It will like 35 miles each way, gets up to regen temps and enough miles to complete. I'm averaging 3883 miles a year, should last forever.

Anyone with good reports of an EcoDiesel?

Like Shadow above. Bought a 2016 bighorn brand new and It has several upgrades/mods to make it mine. It has been tuned since 2016. I've always used a good fuel and oil additive and do the maintenance myself. It's a low mileage daily driver of short hops, which is the worst treatment you can...

Lucas fuel treatment in a Ram Ecodiesel.

"Eco diesel has a system that adds uretha and water (DEF)" this part of your post is true, the rest is 100% false. DEF is injected into the SCR for the sole purpose of reducing or eliminating NOx into the atmosphere. It has not other purpose and in no way makes fuel burn more efficiently...

    2017 3.0L DEF delete

GDE has an emissions compliant tune that keeps the EGT working Many, including me, want a tune that shuts off the EGT. Two tuners whose tunes shut off the EGT and get recommended a lot are SFT and MRT. There are a couple of others, but they get very controversial reviews. I know nothing about...

    2017 3.0L DEF delete

Get a tune. My SFT Stage 1 tune now deletes the DEF system, didn't have to lose any parts. When I return to stock tune, everything is intact with DEF system working. Keeps the dealer happy. I actually was upset when they made this change because I think the DEF system is a good one. I...

    Used GDE Tune(2016)

You need AlfaOBD software and a bypass cable the change the ECM to your VIN number and injector data. There's a lot of info and how tos on other forums and Google

    2020 ecodiesel longhorn 1500

You are wasting your money to add a k&N cold intake or any other system. The stock air intake will provide more air than the small Ecodiesel turbo can handle. Early on GDE proved this and later others have as well.

    Tune and Delete

The easiest way to start a manual regen is with an Edge CTS2. You just select it and it will regen on the next ignition cycle (after the truck reaches the prescribed temps)

Crankshaft positioning sensor and Tone Ring Failure on Eco diesel.

If the truck had the AEM recall (VO8 or VA7) it got a 48 month extended warranty. That warranty covers the sensor. If the tone wheel failure took out the sensor, the whole job is covered. I have read where truck tone wheel failures did not take out the sensor, but were covered. There seems to...

Oregon's biggest tree is right near that park. Just love their Ponderosa forests and how they maintain them.
