Many run the GDE epa compliant tune. The companies reputation is top notch and if emissions testing is a thing in your area it is a great option. Mr. Tuning @ Eco Owners Canada (EOC) is another option if you are looking for your "off road only" needs. :)
Hello everyone,
I am looking at getting the Green Diesel Engineering (GDE) tuner.
The company swears I will have lower soot levels and region cycles. I will get better gas mileage and longevity out of my diesel.
Does anyone currently have this GDE tuner within their 2020+ eco-diesel?
Please...
This will be like buying a new truck and it will run much cleaner than factory. https://greendieselengineering.com/product/ram-1500-ecodiesel-tuning-performance-fuel-economy/
Basically you need the EGR block off and the TURBO DOWN PIPE, I got both from EBAY, or you can try Mrtuning out of Canada, in fact Mr has very excellent tunes and trans mission tuning.
Yes these engines are VERY picky with catch can installs. I believe 2-3 people have done it without codes but it’s not exactly the easiest process.
I received this code after tuning my transmission because 2nd gear was allowing too low of rpm when towing and not enough crank case pressure
Who did the tuning? That is what most likely lead to the engine failure. The delete tunes on Gen3 ecodiesel are made by clueless people. Most are just turning off egr and def and sometimes dpf. There is high pressure and low pressure egr on this engine. Turning off the egr effectively...
My tone ring failed, it was also a recall, but my vin didn’t fall in the range of numbers either, despite that the failure was for my exact year and issue. FCA is simply avoiding responsibility for this. 30k is ridiculous for a motor swap. I did the delete and tune also, 5000 miles ago, not an...
...was done.
The service person told me that the tech had told her...
the engine failed because of the DEF deletion. The mechanics that did the tuning said...there's no way that deleting the DEF would cause the engine to fail...they went on to ask what kind of oil was used in the oil change...
...and ecodiesel owner. Coming from 03 Cummins, and 12 duramax. As our government is screwing is in Canada, I am looking into deleting and tuning my truck. Possibly with leaving things in tact? Not sure if that's possible or not. Looking for maybe somewhat local places in southern Ontario to do...
...I cleared the codes and drove it to clear the particulate filter. After it quit smoking the truck ran great. Now I have a P0088 code. The fuel rail pressure is too high. I was told that the ECM needs tuning so I guess I need to take it to the dealer to see if they can tune it under warranty.
I mean, did it start RIGHT after tuning? If so, perhaps something is off there.. otherwise, hard parts for sure. I would doublecheck fitment on all the boots.
Yes buy it. The emissions warranty doesn't cover crank bearings from what I read. I could be wrong. But my truck is awaiting to be diagnosed and I think it is crank bearings its a 2015 Outdoorsman 90,000 miles. I am trying to decide if I should keep it and wait a few years for a after market...
Update. Back on the road! To no surprise the tone ring was the issue. Bought the replacement for $25 and had a shop do the work for a fair price. Onto tuning next! 😁
...the emissions warranty extended but I am debating on purchasing a extended warranty for 5year/75k miles to cover any issues mainly the engine due to the number of engines I am seeing blow. My question is what do you all think spend 2k on the warranty or Tuning / deleting as is. Thanks in advance
...So I limp moded home and checked the codes and they were the same. I'm a bit confused at this point as these codes relate to the sensors that no longer are in use. My DPF and catalytic pipe are deleted making them redundant. I'm hoping it's just a tuning thing but any input would be appreciated.
No need to react that way, stick around as you are welcomed.
If I misunderstood your LOL, you have my apology. I may be old but not grumpy, just a bit sensitive about certain things.
Just recently I was chastised for naming tuners, etc. on a forum while trying to help another member and...
