Ok so i drove my truck today to try and see what is going on! This message came up " service electronicthrottle ". The trk would hardly go once this message came up. Anyone ever had this problem and how was it resolved
You make my most analytical day seem simple. Keep it simple. Yep the Crank Position Sensor and Ring. One of the reflash recalls was to supplant the Crank Position Sensor as primary to the Camshaft Position Sensor, this was supposed to allow you to limp in when the Crank Tone Ring grenades (as...
...it I’ve been pleased with the vehicle. Recently I became a student and victim of the apparently common lightning bolt, “service electronicthrottle control”. I know there are many threads and videos about this, (I’ve sleeplessly searched, studied and noted all relative causes I’ve come across...
Dude, had the same thing, i had my own ext. warranty. They replaced the tone wheel on the crank since it still run the throttle control. Est bill 700.00 without warranty.
As I mentioned earlier, plethora of circumstances, Low Turbo Boost is one of the causes, Incorrect Mass Airflow Sensor reading, Incorrect Mass Atmospheric Pressure reading, VVTC loss of communications, Injector Flow Low/Higher than anticipated, all these plus many others can cause the dreaded...
Just another question....I'm seriously considering just deleting the electronicthrottle altogether and installing a Banks throttle delete plate/block and having SFT retune with the ElectronicThrottle turned off. Any thoughts if this would end the SETC message from ever popping up again?????
Just wondering why the SETC message would pop up on a Stage 2 tune with throttle delete. I thought deleting the stock electronicthrottle for the Banks throttle delete and having the tuner remove it from ECM would make it impossible for any DTC's regarding the ElectronicThrottle Control let...
Hi! Does anyone know if an individual can replace the ETC without having to go to a dealer? Also, where would be the best place to purchase one? Thank you
Hi folks,
2015 RAM Ecodiesel (100,000 miles/160,000 Kms)
I was carrying a 350 lb load over a long distance on very hilly terrain, hot day. Received an Electronic Sensor Throttle Control warning light (solid RED), power was reduced quite significantly. As this was a long trip I tried calling...
...today and they still don't know what to do about it since the recall is so new. My truck is already sitting because the "service electronicthrottle control" light came on and went into limp mode last Wed. I replaced the MAP sensor and cleaned the egr tube. Didn't fix it. So now the code is...
I was driving today on cruise control and got a CEL and a Service ElectronicThrottle Control message. Limped home and checked the codes and cleared them. Drove it for approximately 30 minutes with no issues. Not going to stray too far from home with it for now to see if it codes again. 52k...
Hmmm never seen a CP4 throw " Check ElectronicThrottle Control" on the screen. and oil pressure light" generally it triggers Rail Pressure codes.... and there's NO Aluminum Parts that rotate in the Direct Injection fuel system use on any Ram 3.0VM ( more like metallic debris). only the...
I’m not going to go in to everything because this would be way too long. Anyways the check engine light came on and said the Theottle control needed to be serviced. This immediately caused loss of power and made it hard to crank. My truck had the recall done after the last extension and they...
...miles one way to work each day at highway speed.
I got the Def injector code, so I corrected that. A week later I got the Service electronicthrottle code, took care of that. Two days later got the 100% plugged code. Needless to say I am done and going with the delete
I have read that you...
...home from work. Punched it to pass an old lady doing 30 in a 50. 10 seconds later truck starts sputtering and dies. "Check ElectronicThrottle Control" on the screen. Check engine light and oil pressure light both on. Truck is a 2016 with 115k miles. I replaced the MAP sensor (it was...
...code caused by the crack in the turbo tube. Your delete program may have short circuited the Low Boost code but not the Service ElectronicThrottle message.
My experience with this message is that 99% of the time it is a false alarm, or loose connection, since installing the GDE tune this...
The exact same thing happened to me on my 2014 fully deleted ecodiesel a couple of months ago. I had my mechanic son-in-law delete any codes he found and everything has been normal since. In my experience, most of the codes are false alarms, and result in losts of owners getting big bills for...
