I had that same error code on my 2016. Took it to a dealer and they replaced the sensor free of charge for me on warranty which was surprising. I guess the exhaust system has a extended warranty (likely because of the class action lawsuit). Saved me a lot of time and hassle.
Yeah, started doing my own oil changes after a couple bad experiences at places. When you take young kids, pay them minimally and don't train them well they just won't care as much as you will and the oil system is pretty damn important isn't it.
Yeah, sounds like a shoddy mechanic. I'd take you truck somewhere else. They do not have a replacement for the high pressure pump yet. Run some diesel additive to help lubricate the pump until they have a replacement.
I am the second owner of a 2016 and had a SCR sensor go bad. Dealer replaced it on Warranty, which I was not even aware that system was covered by a warranty (maybe from the class action . .) The current recall is for the high pressure fuel pump failing. That could be why you are getting a code...
I would like to delete the EGR as I have seen its effects but am hesitant, especially with all the stories in the news lately of tuners and private citizens getting busted recently for emissions modifications, seems like they're cracking down. I have a emission compliant Green Diesel tune, I'm...
Tube does have a somewhat small opening that will start to get covered over with gunk, potentially impeding air flow. I do believe thats worth clearing up. Just want to be careful pulling it out, not to knock crusty's into the intake. Also worth cleaning the MAP sensor while your at it. Mine was...
Hey everyone. I was curious if anyone has tried cleaning they're DPF filter? I'm wondering if regens don't get everything, eventually stuff builds up until you need something more thorough to really get it back to base. I've seen some products out there for it, wondering if its worth doing or...
I bought my 2016 with 62,000 mi. I've read the 2014-2015 were more problematic and they worked some things out by 2016. I've put about 8,000mi on it so far, no issues. Wasn't getting great mileage at first. Replaced air filter and fuel filter, got a GDE epa compliant tune, ran some hotshots fuel...
I've made this comment before, and would love to know peoples thoughts on it. The GDE tune is easily reversible and will return your truck to factory condition. The dealer will not be able to tell you run a tune thus not voiding a warranty. Sorta sleazy if that's true but then again so are giant...
Get a green diesel engineering tune. I'm not gonna say it removes it ;-) but it "Fixes" the problem electronically. There's also a host of other benefits. You can easily remove the tune electronically when you go back to the dealer so it doesn't void the warranty and then re-apply it. At least...
