Hi Welcome to the group.
Absolutely NOT. GDE in fact reduces regens significantly. I'm also in Canada, prior with stock I was getting a regen every 2-3 days (approx
150-200 km), now with GDE, I get regens every 1100-1200 km! I've been logging it and so far, I got GDE back in May, I've had...
I agree, when there have been this many eco fires, at some point, FCA needs to take a step back and determine what the hell is going wrong. These are fairly new trucks. To sit there blindly and say deal with insurance, and not even investigate what is causing so many fires, THEY should be...
I would love to see the day that FCA stood behind their product rather than just wiping their hands clean and saying, not our problem, you got insurance...
how many miles? Were you tuned prior? I wonder if it's an egr valve stuck open, soot / intake fire? If you weren't tuned prior, I'd expect a lot of soot accumulation which could result in a fire... AEM or not, it was probably bound to happen. If you were tuned, I'd really like to know more...
Get a tune to get rid of the lag, they'll shut off the egr gas valve. I went with GDE and haven't looked back. Not cheap by any means, but if you are looking to keep the truck for a few years, the stock tune will kill your truck pretty fast...
are you in the U.S.A? I wonder if it's covered in Canada, we dont' get any extended warranty or $$ from FCA. All we get is a slap on the wrist for buying this truck...
Do you have a picture of the grill? I have the big-horn edition, but in canada, we don't get the warm temps as often, but when we do, it does seem to run a little hot...
I don't think you'll dislike it. I drove down to see them and also used my stock ECM. Took my chances with warranty.
First think I noticed when I left was dam, she moves when I want her to move. Never did that before, there was always a 2-4 sec lag with stock. Also I can now hear the turbo...
you won't be disappointed. I wish I had the $ at the time that I did the hot tune to also do the gde transmission tune, but I'm saving up for that and maybe in a few months I'll get that done also. I'm not happy with the stock shifting pattern, it's sluggish, undecisive which gear it wants...
what a load of bull shit. the aem and all the emission crap they put on the truck is what is causing so many problems. what a mess, sorry that you have to go through all that rocketman! they mucked up, they need to own up to it and make it right. bs..
nicely said, the only thing you need warranty for is all the emission shit that keeps breaking down on these trucks. with a tune, you can get that all deleted and run trouble free...
I also have gde. Just curious about mrtuning. I can't find any reviews or anything on it. I am mulling over gde transmission tune or staying local and going with mrtuning for the transmission. But I can't find anyone who has it to see what they say about it.

You can find ecodiesels under Dodge Jeep:

Canadian based tuners in Quebec.
i'm planning to do mine next summer at about 80,000 km. I've purchased:

Says good for ZF Lifeguard 8 transmissions and a hell of a lot less costly then ZF oil...
