Loss of acceleration and fuel mileage and over all pulling power

I have had a couple under hood after market items before. As long as they have the CARB sticker on them all is well. I’m pretty certain S&B stir filters are all CARB tagged. Ditto with most BANKs stuff. The state of Kalifornia wants that CARB money.

Loss of acceleration and fuel mileage and over all pulling power

I’m interested in the Banks unit as well being it is CARB okay. I sent then a message about the carbon issue. Being the derringer affects sensors it may be a fix. Who knows.

    dreaded carbon build up

I sent a message to BANKS It reads: Two questions: 1. I have a California stock 2018 RAM 1500 with the 3.0 ecodiesel. I like the power and mileage improvements with this product. I especially like that it is CARB compliant. But will it help with the inherent EGR carbon build up issues so...

    dreaded carbon build up

From what I understand the Cal Emissions will pass with the GDE. But our Kalif'ing CARB is on them like stink on poo. GDE is now looking at VIN #'s and seeing if it's a CA vehicle. Like BANKS GDE should pony up and get the CARB sticker for their products. The BANKS derringer tuner is CARB...

    dreaded carbon build up

New to this Ecodiesel stuff. GDE can't sell to CA. Apparently those in CA that do have it say it passes the smog test. How about the Banks tuner deal? It will be CARB complient soon. Does it help with the issues of the EGR crud?

Loss of acceleration and fuel mileage and over all pulling power

My new 2018 seems to run well. Only 1500 miles on it. In the morning it does have some turbo lag. I can't do the delete thing as I am in Kalifornia. They check here every two years.

2016 EcoD with problems as AEM

I would love to do the GDE tune, but I live in Kalifornia and besides I think that tune would delete my warranty. My truck is brand new.

How many miles on your Ecodiesel ??

Brand new 2018 Kalifornia truck here, 1,200 miles! LOL Great power and fuel mileage. My DEF gauge hasn't moved yet. Being I live in a socialist state I can't do a tune on mine. I intend to mount a bypass filter soon though.

    Airbags for towing

I may be looking into these Timber Groves. Looks like a great product. I'd assume the ride with minimum air in them would be close to stock. And I will have a 2"-3" drop coil in back. I wonder if they make shorter bags for this?

    By Pass Filter

It would probably depend on the dealer. But there is a lot of benefit to a bypass system which in my case I feel will be a good thing over the long haul.

    By Pass Filter

I know the benefit of a bypass filter on diesel engines as I used to manage a fleet of trucks and other diesel equiptment. Which one do I want, I've been looking at the Insane Diesel unit, pretty simple. Am I going to have a warranty issue with the dealer down the road by installing this?

    Airbags for towing

AirLift 1000 and pump. You can also go with the TufSpring coils. 950 lbs of tongue weight is way too much for a 6800 lb trailer. Move some stuff around. I towed a 9,000 lb Keystone with my old Hemi 1500 equipted with TufSprings and 1000 bags. Worked great. But too much for a 1500 truck...

    California Eco Diesel folks

I think I may install a bypass filter. I seriously doubt they can come after me on that. I doubt they'd notice a ERG diffuser, but I'd hate for that to come unglued and destroy the engine. And I'm not sure it does all that much good. Seems where issues are is with all the smog crap causing...

    California Eco Diesel folks

I am wrong. Since 2010 the answer is yes. "The diesel smog test will focus on a visual inspection of your vehicle's emissions/smog components, a system check of the On Board Diagnostics (OBD II) system, and a smoke check for visible smoke from the PCV system or smoke plume observed 3 to 15...

I figured as such. Only two counties that don't do periodic smog checks. But I believe diesels are exempt.

2016 EcoD with problems as AEM

Seems to me the majority of issues come from all the EPA crap messing things up.

    California Eco Diesel folks

Just bought a 2018 EcoDiesel new. I am looking at keeping this for some time hopefully. I have a couple questions for The Socialistic State of California owners. 1. Down the road am I going to have to do smog checks on this? 2. Does something like the GDE Hot Tune affect those smog controls...

How Many People Are Buying 2020, EcoDiesel .

I had a 2015 Mega Cab 4X4 with the 6.4. On trips it'd do almost 20. 4.10 gears. Around town was in the 12 range.

what weight dist hitch should I have?

I know this is old. I am new on this forum. After towing a Keystone 33' trailer for a while with my 2009 1500 and later a 2015 2500 with a couple different hitchs I bought a Andersen no sway hitch. They are not cheap, but what an improvement. Very simple system. No grease, no noise, no...
