I am regretting not asking to see the old part. I need to be sure they actually replaced the cooler with the newly designed one. They said it was (thus the 2 week wait) but seeing quite a few people complaining that they just received a "new old-style"... I have the 2015 Tradesman model with tow...
I'll be looking forward to reading replies to this since I am just learning about all of this. I was under the impression that one needed to remove the EGR system so that it all didn't plug up with gunk caused by the addition of the DEF fluid, the turbo charger and such. If only a re-tune was...
I have the 2015 and wouldn't have a clue where to even start... Guess I'll be doing a lot of searching. If there is a "How To" thread around I'd appreciate a link! I'm searching right now (how I found this thread) but haven't found much yet...
I'll have to look up the delete procedure. Aside from cost, I need to see how complicated it is to take the stuff off the truck. I have limited mobility to be crawling around the engine compartment.
Figures....
Can you explain why a delete will prevent problems? I was beginning to think the engine was simply crap reading up on it on several forums...
So is the EGR cooler visible from the outside? The service guy said they replaced it with the updated cooler, "that's why you had to wait till we got one in"... But, if there is a number visible to verify it, I surely will do that just to be sure... He also said that there were a lot of higher...
For someone new to a diesel truck, can you explain to me why a "tune and delete" will take away the concerns, and why the Ram people aren't doing this if it is a "fixall"? I currently live in an area where smog checks aren't necessary, but that doesn't mean I won't someday. Dang this is confusing...
I'm almost regretting I ever looked up this recall stuff. I had the EGR recall performed Wednesday after being placed on a waiting list for a couple weeks. They said they replaced the EGR Cooler and re-programmed the PCM. My big question is, should I still be worried and should I be carefully...
I only had the "dead throttle" issue with mine, and only rarely when it was cold... Had the recall work done Wednesday. I bought the truck a couple months ago from an old guy with only 55k on it. Does the settlement extend the warranty for me? I bought the truck to have a reliable and hopefully...
I just had the recall work done on mine (2015 I got for great price) and sure hope my local Ram dealer did it right. I was on a waiting list and they told me it would take a day to do, but they had it done in 3 hrs. He said "I guess we are getting good at it". I hope they actually changed out...
Hey all!
I have owned many trucks in my life but never a Dodge. Recently bought a new boat and wanted something newer than what I currently own and became fascinated by the idea of an "Ecodiesel" for the gas mileage. Found one advertised by an old fellow, a 2015 with only 55k on it. Said he was...
