Well I am going on a fishing vacation on 6/10, so I will have to wait until I get back to buy/install the tune. After the dealer re-flashing the ECU (while replacing the EGR Cooler), my Ram feels more sluggish and instead of the 19.4 mpg I was getting pre-flash while pulling my Jet Boat, I am...
Oops, forgot to ask... I will be hauling my jet boat a lot with my 1500, would the engine braking option be a good thing? How about the high idle option? Thanks!
Thank you so much! I just want to rid myself of anything that will surely mess the engine up. Had the EGR cooler replaced already, and the "new tune", so have extended warranty. But if I can easily just re-tune it as needed to take it in for warranty work or service, I would be good to go.
Can't...
Well this makes me feel somewhat better... I bought my 1500 Eco 2 months ago private sale for $18k and it only had 55k miles on it... Good luck selling it, they really can be an awesome truck.
I have a 2015 Tradesman... Will it fit? I have the engine heater on mine, but this if for driving in the cold to keep engine warmer, yes?
If it will fit and I need one for my area (Mountains north of Boise), I would be very interested!
I would really be interested IF it is a "plug and play" deal. If it has to be "mated" to my specific Ram, then it will take a bit more investigating.
I've decided I just can't swing a full delete, but I am looking to tune mine as I want it to last for a long time, and with the crappy EGR design...
I've been reading so much on here that my head is splitting... So, if I were to just do a Tune (HD likely), will this stop the EGR from putting so much coal down into my intake? Will I be able to quit worrying about a fire? What about the exhaust system? I've read so much bad regarding the regen...
So does your tune from HD shut off the EGR system? It's been a while since you posted this, how are you liking the tune now?
I am seriously thinking of doing this instead of a complete delete, just trying to decide on HD or waiting until GDE releases their new tune... Guess I better start...
Since I probably can't "delete" due to my spinal issues, can I just do your tune when available and expect a truck that will last like older diesels do? I'm happy enough with my stock performance and mpg's, I'm just very nervous about it getting so clogged up with the EGR "Tar" that it will...
I need to call FCA, I went to their site and put in my VIN, it said it had already been registered. I am wondering if the previous owner filed, took the payout, and dumped the Truck.... Might be why he accepted my lo-ball offer? Or, maybe when I got the Recall work done, it was "registered" at...
1st Diesel Truck- 2015 Tradesman ED. Had 55k on it when I bought, owner gave me all paperwork and nothing but routine maintenance (that he disclosed). Only issue I had was the turbo lag when cold, maybe 3 times. Had no idea of issues until I got recall notice one month after purchasing, no parts...
Hey All,
1st time Diesel owner, and wasn't expecting such a learning curve... Purchased a used 2015 Tradesman with 55k on it. Was super impressed with it and had no idea there were problems with this Model until I got a recall notice after a month of owning it, then started reading (previous...
Wow, so not even a brand new ED has a reliable engine?!?... What a joke, but not funny at all. Now I know why the old codger sold me the truck for so cheap, and being a typical person of today said not one word about the recall issues (but according to FCA has collected the $3800). He said he...
I watched a YT video of a guy removing the EGR Cooler tube and I was shocked at how gunked up it was. The guy said it had to be done every 20-30k miles "or you will lose your engine prematurely as the "gunk" builds up and gets hard, only to enter the cylinders and destroy the engine.
Being my...
I purchased my 2015 Ram 1500 a couple months ago with 56k miles on it, and had the oil changed soon after. I reset the Oil Change Interval notification. The sticker they put on my windshield and it said I would need to change oil again after 6k miles. The other day, the warning light came on...
Thanks, I'm used to seeing the link either bold, highlighted, or bordered with a box.. And have you seen how many videos pop up on YT if you just search the word? I wanted to be sure it was the right one. I love the stuff, especially for anything that gets wet or near salt...
