    Anyone using GDE tuning ??

I've been running the tune now for several months. For me it was not an earth shattering improvement in performance. The performance improvement is a bit more like your horse feeling his oats a bit more in the morning. Not the mind blowing the improvement some tunes give but at the possible...

    Rear Hellwig sway bar

I ordered one of these a while ago and finally got around to putting it on this weekend and dialing it in. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004I5950O/?tag=jhdiesel-20 It is an adjustable rear sway bar and definitely beefier than stock. It has 3 positions and I settled on the middle one, sort...

    Cold EcoDiesels

I wouldn't think it would vary that much if they are both 5w oils. They should both flow very similarly if they are 5w rated. So how much of a change are you seeing compared to before with the original oil spec?

    Cold EcoDiesels

You realize the oil pressure gauge EVIC (if factory) is bogus and gives no really accurate info. It isn't the real value but one just there to give you some idea but not entirely accurate. Now if you went with the GDE tune and use their oil pressure sender then you'd have accurate info. You...

    Convince me please...

The roads suck here in Minnesnowtah compared to other places I lived. I can't wait to move out of here but in the mean time I'd like to keep the fillings in my teeth and not be pounded to heck b the roads and rough riding vehicles. One of the best riding cars I've owned on the roads here was my...

    Convince me please...

I've had enough of rough riding trucks in my lifetime. I used to drive a dump truck on our farm. That sucker would make you feel like you would pee blood when drove it for more than a few miles unloaded. Felt like I was getting kidney punched ever bump I'd hit. I'll take the nice riding EcoD...

    Convince me please...

I'm with TC Diesel on this. You will give up a massive amount of road comfort by going DRW. Unless you really need that carrying capacity I'd look for something else. If a CC w/long box, you'll need a country mile to turn that thing around. You better have a huge garage too. Those fat hips make...

    Truck bed Tie Downs

Thanks. I'll look for them on Amazon and try and determine if they'll fit with my cover.

    Truck bed Tie Downs

Those look nice. How much was the work for the install? If they would work with my tonneau cover I'd love to have a set.

    Oil Spec Recall/TSB - Grounds for Class-Action?

I went in to my local dealer, not where I bought my truck, and they said no need to change yet. Just do it at the first oil change interval. I have a 2016 truck that is covered by this. What idiots!

My EcoDiesel is awesome today because:

My EcoD is awesome because it didn't blow up and have to be towed to a dealership somewhere. ;) Just kidding (well maybe a little bit after all the horror stories I've read about them dying). Actually today I recorded my best mileage on a tank that wasn't purely highway. A 60/40 mix I got 29.4...

3k miles and still can't get over 23 mpg

Minor correction, I just checked the fuel receipt and I transposed numbers on it. My actual mileage was 29.49 mpg. For you Canadians playing at home this is just a touch less than 8l per 100km (7.97 actually). That was also with some pretty heavy rainstorms when driving too. I probably did at...

3k miles and still can't get over 23 mpg

Last tank was 723 mile on 25 gallons for 28.92 mpg. This was about 60/40 Hwy/City. I never went over 80 mph. Typical cruise on the highway was 65-70. Around town I kept up with traffic but didn't floor it from a stop but did accelerate smartly to where i could get in the higher gears quickly if...

GDE Performance before and after testing

I am not saying necessarily more power, just shift it more to the left of the graph. It wouldn't hurt for Dodge to follow a bit of Ford's playbook and lighten the heifer up a bit. I can't say to go with an all aluminum bed but you could strategically look at areas where you could shave a few...

    Good size tire?

Anyone see any nice looking 17" wheels? I have 20's on mine and want something for the winter. I wouldn't mind something lighter than the stock 17's as well. The 20's must weigh a ton based on how the truck responds when it hits a big bump. I wouldn't mind reducing unsprung weight by a bit either.

GDE Performance before and after testing

Just want to clairify I am not saying the GDE tune is bad or the EcoD sucks. Objectively it seems like they (FCA) could have done a better job with the initial tuning giving how heavy the truck is and the fact it will pull loads. As I mentioned upstream GDE is quite conservative in their tune so...

GDE Performance before and after testing

Basically for the exhaust brake to work, you have to above 2500 rpm and in 1-6th gear. It changes the geometry of the turbo to provide more resistance. Basically your dyno plots reinforce my seat of the pants impression, it is an improvement but not earth shattering. Also this is one of the...

GDE Performance before and after testing

I ended up going with the GDE tune. Pros: Regen - Definitely has slowed the regen process Mileage - So far it is up, a bit early to tell, but looks to be at least 10% and possibly more Engine brake - Likely my favorite feature so far Cold start high idle - Will be useful in the winter. It only...

GDE Performance before and after testing

I too can't wait to see the results. While I won't go with a tune, It is still interesting for me. I don't want to have any possible warranty issues and possibly have a claim denied.

PSA: FCA Changes Oil Specification Requirement for Ram 1500 EcoDiesels

That would be my assumption as well. You know what they say about assumptions though. Easy enough to check with them and see.
