So I just got the EGR debacle finally finished on my 2016 at the dealer. Thought I would be happy with the truck now. Today I get a letter for FCA in the mailbox with a recall notice in it. This one says the PCM needs a reprogram because the main problem is the crankshaft position sensor...
My Dealer keeps telling me they don't have the parts yet, and they only allocate a few at a time. I call once a week and keep getting the same story. "Nope there not in yet and we haven't heard when they'll be in". I even called FCA and had a rep that said she would call the dealership and get...
Damn wish I lived in your area! I got an HD tune that I love but it was too late the EGR is leaking and my dealer still says they don't know when the 2016's will be ready. truck just sits in the driveway. Waiting. Don't want to drive it and risk further damage.
So john i take it they can't tell if you've put a tune in and set it back to stock again for service? There have been people saying online that they can count flashes done to the ECM.
Yep. Also a good option. I would have went with them but they were out of handhelds with no due date in site. HD just happen to have what i wanted in stock. Both places are very responsive to their customers.
HD dieselsupply is a very good option for you as well checkout their website hddieselsupply.com. They have tunes that will let you leave your emissions in place and deactivate the egr.
If you just send an email or call HD they are very helpful. They told me that the high idle wasn't necessary for me because of the area of the country I live in. They will be very patient with you and answer all your questions till you are satisfied.
Yes it shuts the EGR off even when it's still installed. You can remove and delete it or not. Your choice. They say that once it's(the tune) is installed the EGR cooler won't get the stress to fracture like they do. Unfortunately mine already had cracks and was beginning to leak so I was too...
Called FCA customer service after getting another automated message from my dealer which i cant seem to get through the service department for some reason. FCA said parts are indeed available so I will try to get it in next week.
Well I took the day off from work to get mine done this morning. Was excited to get this BS behind me. So I get in there this morning they tell me "Sorry there's no parts for yours yet" What!!?!?!! I took the day off from work to get this done. All for nothing!! So the NEW official word from...
That was the Story I got for mine last month when I "put it in line" at my dealer. They said 2014&15's would get done first. then onto the 16's like mine. They had 5 in front of mine when they told me that on the 10 of april and here it is 4 weeks later and I got the call to bring it in so maybe...
Got the call today for an appointment. My dealer must be done with the 14/15's. Taking it in the morning. Sounds like they will have it done by end of day. Fingers crossed. It was starting to use more and more coolant so I parked it 3 weeks ago.
What gets me is there's 2 websites - dalessuperstore.com & bulletproofdiesel.com that sell "upgraded, heavy duty coolers" for our trucks. Why doesn't FCA contract out to them to make what they know is a much better product? I guess i'm just making too much sense. I may try to get one of these...
Just got done talking to my Dealer. The only years parts are available for now are 14-15. He said once those orders are filled they can only order for 1 truck once a week and those weird ass rules are subject to change from day to day as far as he can tell. He said he put an order in for 12...
You are right. I have the skills to fully delete and back if I want but it looks like a pain in the ass with the possibility of busted bolts on the exhaust flange. At this point I think I will just leave the tune in place and reduce the amount of driving I do with the truck. Luckily I have a...
