2015 ecodiesel 1500.

I hit a deer with my truck a couple days ago. Insurance has deemed it a total loss with a salvage amount of a little over 5k.
I know there are people out there that need new motors.
my truck run great, is not leaking any fluids, has had the def system deleted ( looks like it is still there)

Wondering if I would be able to sell entire truck for a reasonable price.

I'd be interested in buying the brake lights. One of mine on my 2015 is only partially illuminated.

I can’t believe they only gave you $5000 for it. It should be worth significantly more than that. Did you just have to pay them 5000 to keep it

I can buy it back for 5400( salvage)
They say the value is a little over 21k.

If I let the insurance company take it, they will sell it to a salvage auction for the 5400. Highest bidder buys the truck from auction, they can fix it or part it out.

So I am thinking that instead of everyone else making money off my truck, I will keep it and make the money to buy another truck.

I just put a little over $900 in tires on it, insurance gave me $450.

I mean if you have the space and time, parting it out makes the most sense. A lot of the second gen guys would pay for the interior and the rears/frame someone could use. Shit the computers alone you could bring at least a grand in selling them used. I paid 200 for a used tail light pre Covid and the mirrors were going for 700+ new at the dealer at that same time. Radio screen is pricy item also. Wheel and tires are an easy grand on marketplace.

I would try and sell the truck as a whole. Or find a cab for it and replace the cab.

Just for info spring of 24 saw 2014 4x4 lonestar listed on e bay..
199,6k very very clean truck but showing metal in oil..Running but obviously problem engine .Aftermarket rims and 60% wide tires.$6K creampuff truck only minor dent in front bumper othewise spotless.
I bought it..put in gen 3 engine , have listed "running takeout engine 1K no takers..
