I wasn’t sure where to put this, but since I’ll cover my engines lifespan, maybe this is as good a place as any
I’m dipping out of the Ecodiesel world
bought the truck brand new in 2017, and since then, I’ve put 208,458 miles on it. I had it GDE tuned and deleted early on, and honestly it’s been such a great truck to me for the past 9 years. Dodge body is starting to do dodge body things from the Pennsylvania winters and it was time to call it quits while I had time to pick options for a new truck rather than be pigeon holed into something I didn’t truly want due to need constraints. My work pays me to run a vehicle, which between fuel and stipend is like 12$ an hour it makes me extra. So I stepped up to a Cummins
Things I had happen on this truck; turbo under boost phantom code. This was early on and fixed by t&d
stock battery made it 7 years
but when it went, it took my alternator with it. Rockauto replacement lasted 14 months, than crapped out, so went with one from autozone with a lifetime warranty after that.
fuel pump quit out, ordered a replacement on Amazon against my original judgement. It failed after 3 months and MELTED a little bit, so ponied up for a FASS pump. Works fantastic.
other small odds and ends like a new thermostat and oil temp sensor, and an intermediate shaft and cv axles around 200k
I know people usually hit up the forums when things go bad, and rarely when things go right. If you look at my post history you’ll see I was mostly in the latter camp, so my time here was sparse.
I hope yall have great luck with your ecodiesels, and hopefully someone can take this one off my hands and continue to let it live some more!!
