Class action lawsuit regarding Engine Replacement

I would be willing to head up filing a class action suit regarding engine replacement. I am wondering how many people out there have had engine replacement issues or extremely high cost to replace the motor. How many people are there that would join this???

My engine on my 2015 blew at 150,000 miles while on a trip. Went to pass a car and as I came back into the lane, she started knocking. Had to have it towed into a dealership about 500 miles from my home, rented a car to get home and 5 months later, had a new engine at a cost of $12,500. Nothing covered according to the dealership. Once the engine was put in and I took the truck back home all of a sudden had problems with my DEF system. Had to replace from the injector back to the pump and the pump. Seems the DEF fluid hardened in the lines and pump while the engine sat for 5 months. So now I have a new engine with about 30,000 miles on it with 189,000 on the odometer. I sure would join any law suite filed. The dealer never did tell me what happened, just said they'd ship it back to FCA and let them figure it out.

I joined this forum for this purpose. Also have a 2016 EcoDiesel at 111k miles with a blown engine caused by a bad rod bearing. The oil had just been changed 6 weeks prior along with $4k in a complete brake and emergency brake job. Also telling me that it will be $25k to replace the engine. I've been told that it's 50/50 of whether these engines will fail between 80k and 120k miles. Dodge Customer Care responded that Dodge will not provide any compensation for the failure. Would like to participate in a class-action case!

My 2015 just experienced a catastrophic engine failure with 112k miles. Just curious if there has been any progress on a class action lawsuit. I too was denied any form of compensation.

No, there isn't a class action lawsuit. Your truck failed outside of warranty. Here are your options:
(1) Sell the truck as is
(2) Buy a rebuild engine
(3) Buy a new engine

Just wanna let people know I’ve had nothing but issues with this truck. I’ve had the complete depth system replaced that 20,000 miles. My motor blew at 67,000 after its spanner bearing. Then for sitting for seven months waiting for a motor my complete deaf system needed to be replaced again then I finally got the fuel pump recall done and less than 400 miles catastrophic failure was in the shop for over a month and a half told nothing’s under warranty cost me 1800 bucks For a PCM. They said couldn’t be reprogrammed and one injector for my check engine light to still be on and throw a code for low fuel pressure went to two dealerships nobody can figure it out have to keep doing forced regions because the def system keeps clogging up and I can clear the check engine light, but it comes right back right around 3000 RPMs and nobody knows what’s wrong with it

My 2017 Eco Diesel Ram engine threw a bearing at 19,500. I bought the truck at 5 years old with 8,000 miles on it. No warranty, they wanted $26k for engine replacement. I sold it at a loss of about $21k....Fiat/Chrysler/Alpha....

My 2017 Eco Diesel Ram just seized up last weekend at 113k, and now at dealership waiting to hear but pretty sure it was main bearing. The engine started to make a whining noise when cold but went away when warm. Has anyone heard from @jcbanks34 about lawsuit??

There's no class action lawsuit. Once you are outside of warranty, you have three choices:
1) Sell the truck as is
2) Install a crate engine
3) Install a rebuilt engine

I understand my options and understand there is no lawsuit right now but with all the people with these failures causing millions of dollars out of consumers' pockets. We all need to work together to push a legal company to take up this suite as there is definitely a design defect causing these issues, there is nothing you or I could have done to prevent this issue from occurring, other than not driving it. It is not worn out at 113k. If we could start generating a list on this forum, then we can turn this into a legal company to pursue.
Until we stand together against these large corporations they will not do anything for one customer here and there.
We all know an engine should not fail in this type of manner.
