Did my First tow this past weekend taking the boat the lady and the pooch out too the lake.
The Boat and duck blind/trailer/motor/ and Gear (fishing/cooler/and Coleman stove) probably weigh in at close to 1000 lbs.. I managed 18.2 mpg for the round trip..
Gonna probably make same trip this weekend, and will see if I get similar numbers, and hopefully get some pics.

Not sure I get what you're towing. If it's 1000# total, that's nothing, & 18+mpg is way off. My boat setup is only around 3500# and I see 22+mpg all day long.

Alot if ups and downs, plus about 15 miles of 2 lane small town and rural traffic to get to destination.
Was using tow/haul too, not sure if any all had a difference in the numbers. Plus only about 600 miles on vehicle at the time. Mine has 3.55 gearing...

I think we are all kind of thinking your weight numbers are low....you are probably closer at least to 2 to 3k pounds....

Agreed. Towing as light as 1000# should net pretty close to empty mpg numbers. Unless I guess if it's a huge wind sail, which in this case I don't think it is.

Thinking my weight numbers are pretty close to 1000... Boat-410, trailer 320, Motor 117, battery 50, fuel can 50, boat blind 50???? - it's a homegrown solution and made out of conduit, pvc, and lightweight fabric.

Got about 2 mpg better today, compared to last week it was windier, but cooler and less humid today. I synced my tire pressure yesterday to 41... From 39 last week...
