I just did the oil change to 5-40 yesterday at 144.5K and was at the local FCA place to let him dazzle me with his knowledge. I will let them repair the recalls I had saved as I thought I could get a bicycle if I saved enough of them. It doesn’t happen. Oh well. The dude didn’t have a clue as to the service bulletin and claimed my vehicle wasn’t in the vin numbers affected. Such is life. I was hoping to get the fan and transmission calibration and the oil algorithm done but will keep ya posted on that. I let FCA do the initial oil change way back when, 2015, and that is all they get from me. $300+ for an oil change is a bit steep, even if he was a TECH. I do oil sampling through Finning Caterpillar to keep an eye on things and so far all is good. Two issues have surfaced and 1 was the engine fan shutters, while it was still on warranty and the other is the passenger side puddle light under the mirror. The dude up sold the warranty department with a new actuator and then blabbed about having to repair a broken wire. Go figure. 4 years and 3 months later and I am still in love. 2 door long box, affectionately known as a “farmer” truck. I like farmers! Oh yeah I do buy transfer case oil from FCA as I haven’t found the “other” place yet.
