hi y'all,

My name is John (nosebiter), just traded a Jeep Grand Cherokee with ecodiesel for a 15 Dodge Ram 1500 4x4 limited about a month ago. 22,000 miles and I had it 4 days and threw a rod.

It's why I'm here, anyway, took a month and only one issue is a donut gasket for the exhaust it leaking and filling the cabin with fumes. Otherwise I've been very happy with the ecodiesel in my grand Cherokee. Hoping that engine #2 last a bit longer.

That's doesn't sound like fun with a truck purchase. I hope engine #2 lasts forever. Welcome.

Welcome. Tough luck for sure.

I'm assuming FCA never told you what happen right? It would be nice to get a failure analysis for one of these blown motors..

They pulled oil filter and was full of metal, dodge said to pull it and send it back. I'll talk to service manager to find out what happened. To me, it sounded like a rod knock with a strange grind or squeal.
