I want to replace my front air ride shocks on my 2015 Ram Ecodiesel. I would like to buy the Arnott shocks.
so the question is to replace can you lower the air ride to entry/exit thus emptying the air out of the shocks?
Then replace them while it is still in that mode/ position? Would that work without having to recharge the system?
My thoughts are this should work. And why not?

There's an air line. No coil spring so once the line is off and the strut is unbolted you just compress it and pull it out.

I'm fairly certain that you have completed this project so for future efforts here is what you should do.
1. Deflate front shock system to reservoir. This will bottom out the front system.
2. Remove the original air shocks by disconnecting the upper ball joint, sway bar, lower bolt, air line on top of the shock, remove the three nuts on top of the shock in engine compartment.
3. Install your new shocks in reverse order of removal.
4. Perform a partial fill of left front shock, then a complete fill.
5. Perform a partial fill of the right front shock, then a complete fill.
6. Perform a sensor level test and mass volume test to confirm whether you need to refill the storage tanks.
7. Remove the system from Shop Mode.
