Might be time to trade the Eco for a gasser

My new job is 3.5 miles from my house. Had some high 20 low 30 degree nights here in Charleston sc. I try to let it warm up before I move it but even after about 10 mins in those temps it only gets to about 100 degrees coolant before I get in and only to about 150 by the time I get work. With diesel close to 70 cents higher per gallon here now the mpg just isn't working out. Pic of where mpg is now, I'm sure it hasnt leveled out yet to see just how bad itll get. I've thought about a beater but if I have to spend 1000 or more I'd rather try to trade and end up with a new truck again as I really like the 19s and the idea of a warranty. I'd sell it for the payoff if anyone is interested. 2017 bighorn bought new in April with 19 miles, 11700 miles now, had lots of highway at first, not so much anymore. Pic of truck attached as well. Interior and exterior I'd consider in new condition, have had seat covers and steering wheel cover since a few weeks after I bought it.

Sometimes it just makes sense to trade up if the diesel doesn't fit your needs anymore. I've looked at a new GM 6.2L Halfton but it's hard to get away from the diesel engine. Love the sound and power!

I got it for mpg, as you can see short trips just aren't doing anything for it and as I said at 70 cents more per gallon it's really not worth it

That’s strange. I live roughly 7 miles from my job. A combo of short hwy and about 5 stoplights. Went from $45 of gas a week to $45 every two weeks in diesel. And I do the same with letting my truck idle plenty.

No highway, 45mph for about 3/4 mile the 25mph through a neighborhood

Itll look the same as all of the rest of them except I change my oil at 5 k not 10k so maybe better than most
