Nissan dropping the Cummins option in the Titan XD

It's a very specific truck for a very specific audience. It's bigger than a half ton, but not a 3/4 ton. It gets 3/4 ton mileage but doesn't haul as much. Not sure what Nissan was targeting.. but you'll notice all the "smaller" diesels are really for light/moderately heavy hauling and Nissan went a bit beyond that for sure.
It was rumored forever the Tundra was going to get that same motor. It never happen, and I'm assuming it won't now since Nissan is dropping it as well.

I saw on another forum where a guy summed it up with "1 Ton pricing, 3/4 Ton MPG and 1500 performance". Seems like a good description. I had a 2010 that I absolutely loved, but 9-11 mpg and older tech drove me to a new truck. The new gen Titans are fugly and I just couldn't bring myself to pull the trigger on one. Had Nissan actually built the Titan Warrior, I probably would have gone that direction.
