Maybe this is a stupid question. But from what I read it seems like it is like a software update for the computer? Is this accurate?

What is flash?

Generally, a flash is referencing some kind of update or change in your tune. However, you can also "Flash" other modules that is not your ECM (engine computer).
The dealer should be able to run your VIN to see if you have any outstanding updates for your ECM.

Ok, that’s more or less what I had figured hah.
I would love to do the gde hot tune to my truck. I hate the idea of the EGR. Anyone in California actually do this?
