It likely a fail safe cycle. VM has electronic limiting operations.... which I don't care for. It just another gizmo to fail and requires another gizmo to test.
First HPCR do not conform to logic, they conform to experience. The long cranks are likely related to return rates to high Injectors or the Electronic PRV is malfunctioning. Unplug FCA and see if it starts? -0 Volts is default WO FCA.
John, 1500diesel.xxx is not even close to the membership they claim, You cannot delete your membership completely. Plus it's the same handful of members that do about 50% of the commenting.... Some of the mods attack anyone who post the facts about VM ...Its a honor to be banned. I also look...
It's the inherited risk all VM 3.0 engine incur Hero/Zero status. It will be costly and time consuming to repalce, the replacement will have the same risk.
If you do OAs trends you will get advance warnings ...in most cases......Established trends are required...condemning the engine on 2 or 3 OAs.. elevated levels IMO does not qualify to be a trend.
Its spun Rod or Main Bearing like the 0ther 40K+ failures. It's VM / Fiat that/was the problem, Many at FCA Corp promoted, don't bring that EUR engine to NA, it was developed and designed for 3200LBS Euro Cady's that never made it to production. and when you get that engine replaced Sell BC the...
Yep...and than they will try and tired you out.. Do you have any record of early service... Yes, you have to be extremely diligent with this engine. It's well known of its rotating mass failures over the last 8 9 years....
Yep.. VM 3.0 has IMO the worst failure rate in the last 20+ years , I think it has now surpassed the Ford 6.0 failure ratio. That why You ALWAYS Register your vehicles at the official site and update your service records... If Dealership did the service, it should be record here...
Naaa, it's not a spun bearing...The VM 3.0 has such a horrible History on puking The Dealership just does not want to deal with it.. There's simple procedures to check Fuel system, intake, rotating mass, etc...It also could be as simple as a bad connection. IMO after you do get it running sell...
The material would have been found in the filter....Your magnets did nothing to stop the impending destruction, plus you continue to operate even after the factory warning became apparent, at this point wisdom would have dictated to investigate and check your Magnets. The best fix for VM 3.0 is...
I am contributing... By stating the facts and truths about VM / Fiat I posted the inter Commumications ( 2014-15) between Fiat FCA America about the VM 3.0 failure rates , Fiat continue to produce that Engine .... When any other power plant maker would have stop production and fixed the Rats...
Who ever said anything about the truck? did I? it's the engine....220 rocket I'll pass... on EVs... I have an entire fleet of honorable Trucks.... Both gas and Diesel... (Rams)You should investigate who you deal with both in power plant Makers (Engine) and sources of correct information...
We built several 3000+ HP motors in fact it was our Build (Long Block 6.7 Cummins that won the UC 2785 HP, stayed together the entire season We will be tearing it down next month) we've/I seen the damage Bed plates create over the decades. If you check my postings back in 2020 I forecasted the...
