    EGR and SFT/GDE

cds13ca 7 John Thanks for your clarifications - you made it easy for me to understand. So the question that is left for me is if SFT & GDE both turn off the EGR and the pilot injections, why does SFT reach 66% sooner and GDE reach 80% for so much longer an interval? There must be more to it.

    EGR and SFT/GDE

cds13ca, I agree with what you say and experienced and driving to complete is a pain. I have done all that and experienced all that as well. I liked the longer GDE regens and their tune. The controversy over regens long or short is complex for sure. There's a lot of opinions that make sense...

    EGR and SFT/GDE

Pekozip93, Considering all this, I guess its the “reason” for the Regen that most concerns me, the fear of that damn DPF going to 100%. (I have never had any EVIC warning) My driving is similar to yours except I am doing 80-95% 4-12 mile trips. OEM, GDE or SFT I have never had and EVIC warning...

    EGR and SFT/GDE

Pekozip93 Both SFT & GDE turn off the EGR. You do not have to do any deleting of the emission system. My thoughts regards the above Regen comments: I question that "regens create a whole other set of issues". Think about it, if they did there would be huge problems for all owners of the...

    SFT & GDE Comparison

Some have asked for an update on my tune comparisons. Here it is: Note the important comment * Return SFT tune to stock b/4 dlr flash or tuner will lockup ($150.00 to unlock)

Unhappy with Performance after Emissions Recall Update

Here's a description of the U53 recall. U53 recall (also known as T25)(rollover/seatbelts/airbag) The Occupant Restraint Control (ORC) module on your truck may be involved in "low information" rollover events where there is not enough information to discriminate the event at the target...

    2015 EcoDiesel 58,000

There's a lot of talk and indication that the AEM flash will be changed or modified. My best advice is to wait as long as you can in case the rumors are true. If it doesn't happen, get the AEM anyway and correct it all with a GDE or SFT tune. No need to lose an extended warranty of sorts and...

Unhappy with Performance after Emissions Recall Update

John, Sorry, brain fart, yes, it is the U07 (U74 is tailgate fix). Interesting that you still have it listed separately. My 2016 was listed separately, then removed and the dealer didn't know why. Since then several people getting the AEM have reported (unhappily) that it was part of the AEM...

Unhappy with Performance after Emissions Recall Update

John, I believe it's the U074 Auto Park safety recall. It was a separate recall but has been canceled and incorporated with the AEM flash. We think too many were declining the U74 which leaves a giant liability problem as there has been death where a person got out of the truck while backing...

    2015 EcoDiesel 58,000

FrankD, Here is the SofaKingTune web site. It has a lot of info and a good FAQ section. Jimmy, the owner is very helpful and responds to emails very well. About your question: when it comes to smogging or taking the truck to dealership for whatever reason won’t the OBD show a code of some...

Unhappy with Performance after Emissions Recall Update

Regenerations (self Cleaning) of the Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) Active (self-regeneration) = fuel is injected into the exhaust stroke strictly for the purpose of increasing exhaust gas temperatures (EGT's) to get to the temperature necessary to oxidize the carbon and burn the soot out of...

How many miles on your Ecodiesel ??

Recall U065. "FCA has decided that a defect, which relates to motor vehicle safety, exists in certain [2014 through 2018 Model Year Dodge Durango and Jeep Grand Cherokee] vehicles equipped with a gasoline engine and Cruise Control. The fault handling strategy of the Powertrain Control Module...

    DEF?

I had no problems but can see if a person is not computer oriented it could be a bit tricky. I've read posts where Jimmy, SFT owner, has walked the customer through every step over the phone. If you aren't sure, email or call them as they are very helpful.
