GDE closed that "send to a friend" loophole. They now require a copy of the vehicle registration.
I had GDE and now have SFT and find it every bit as good as GDE.
Hi John
Thanks for the response. Good points but at this point, I'm not inclined to change my data for the following reasons.
Double check the EGR-off as an option with GDE. I didn't think it was optional, but not 100% sure.
SFT you have to select EGR-off. If I recall correctly GDE will...
I posted this on another forum. For the reasons stated I thought it might be useful here as well.
It seems the AEM flash has created a rush for tunes for which there seems to be some confusion. So I made a comparison chart to help. My data is from the tunes' web sites and forums. If anyone...
John,
It's been a long time since I've been in a stock mode where my Edge would show what gear I am in and whether it is locked or unlocked. I can't say for certain (memory fart) that the 8th gear unlocked. You say 8th is always locked, I'll accept that. FYI - With the SFT TCM tune, all...
I have an endless supply of hatchets, so don't stop the responses.
Correct, you've not been part of the "paid posts", you always post with class.
Arkie has a good idea. Think I'll sit in the patio, have a beer and pet my Lab
Great! Good to know. Apparently I misunderstood your, "we all know the answer". After reading you GDE reputation I assumed you meant the answer to be GDE. There goes that "assumed" getting me in trouble again.
However, I still don't get how your reply answered Parity's question of why do...
John,
We all know the fine reputation of GDE, what is the purpose of your post?
When you say, "How many in CA would have it if they could? I think we all know the answer.", you might be surprised.
Not only does SFT cost less, but SFT also has features that GDE does not have and some for...
They just can't accept that there's a tune besides GDE that is as good, maybe better. I had the GDE hot tune and it was great. That said, the longer I use my SFT tunes the more satisfied I am and their service is outstanding.

I thought I read where an owner (because of your posts?) did say his GDE tuned truck caught fire. The caveat was the fire was not caused by the tune, however, I don't think he said what caused the fire. And if I remember right, his post came up shortly after GDE said no GDE tuned trucks...
Didn't like the above layout and this site doesn't allow for pp, indents, etc so have att a Word doc that will make it easier to read. Same info as above but maybe easier to read. Oops, site doesn't allow a word doc attachment. So, converted to a PDF doc
Here's another great feature of the SFT ECM tune not available in the other tunes.
How to engage “TCS Off” or “ESC & TCS Off" with a Stock tune or the SFT tune:
STOCK TUNE:
2WD, 4WD AUTO
& 4WD LOCK ------ “TCS Off” - Press “Traction Control” switch whenever needed...
What John said plus:
My dealer has removed and reinstalled my stock and GDE tuned ECMs several times. The first time it was removed the bolts were "factory" tight, very hard to loosen. Those bolts have marks on them from the factory and the dealer - if you are really anal about it, install...
cds13ca,
Sorry if I misinterpreted your comment, "SKT slipping in ads to promote their product all the time" sounded like bashing to me. The other forum IMHO has gone way too far with their negative SFT comments and I assumed you were bringing more of the same to this forum.
I assumed...
This thread started about and discussed PPEI for 7 pages with no input from SFT. In the last 2 pages, I counted 4 "comments from people using SKT's" and zero "SKT slipping in ads". All of SFT's comments were responding to questions and merely extending their 20% discount for the posting...
Ram for Life asked, "How is the tune working for you now ? "
I thought he answered that, I know I saw his answer somewhere. Basically, his issues were all self-inflicted. That is, he forgot to install the TCM tune. Once he got it all corrected he was very satisfied with the SFT tunes and...
