Wow! If that was due to the cover being removed (only 4 hours) mine should've melted the hood by now.
Hard to believe but can't refute the photo.
Cover & foam removal has been discussed extensively on another forum and there were no mentions of hood or paint damage due to the cover being...
I've had it off traveling the length of CA to OR in October heat at 80 mph and not seen any heat damage to the hood. If the engine could produce that much heat I would think it would melt the plastic engine cover.
I removed all my foam and the plastic engine cover. Did not cut the driver side, loosened the stuff holding it down. Took extra effort but worth saving it intact if ever sell or trade-in, can put back to stock condition.
Sorry, I have read a lot about deleting and have some knowledge but I have no experience with actually deleting so I cannot give you any valid answers. There are several posters who have deleted and can give you the right skinny.
If you don't get their replies, do a search across this and...
Hey Arkie
Looks like us old farts overuse our toys at the same rate.
My 2016 Ram Eco has 15,275, my Ford F350 6.0 diesel has 27,000, my 2005 Jeep Rubicon Rock Crawler has

I feel like I'm talking to the wall, GDE also got caught in a lie, called hin a clown - so unprofessional.
I guess you believe "BS" is also not a negative comment?
I'm done -
Cheers!
John,
I have to disagree with "everyone knows exactly who attacked who" and other like statements by you and others.
I have been around since the beginning and IMHO there were negative comments (and maybe lies) towards Jimmy and his tunes. He then began defending himself. What ensued was...
Thinking about GDE's question of Stevei, "Is your DEF system still active in your new tune?"
And Stevei's answer, "No DEF but have to keep fluid in there so the nozzles don't plug up."
GDE interpreted Stevei's answer as meaning DEF is not active.
I also have SFT's tune and DEF is active so I...
I'm in Califunny where GDE is banned and they can't/won/t support the tune. Found SFT can sell in Califunny and their tunes are cheaper than GDE and they install via the OBDII port - a no brainer for me!
Was stock in between because I was going to get the AEM flash after selling my GDE and...
I had GDE tune EGR shut off and used distilled water for 2 years. Changed from GDE to SFT and in between the change went back to the stock tune and did not experience any of what you described as, " it will not turn back on without many codes and expensive parts."
So glad it all worked out. Thanks for the candid reports, it's hard to admit oneself is the problem, you are to be commended for that. I also found Jimmy to be patient, helpful and knowledgeable.
Sorry to hear that. Hope they are minor and fixable.
Here's what I posted elsewhere after testing my SFT tunes:
I'm happy to report they are performing as advertised and I am more than satisfied.
One nice surprise was the ECM tune automatically starts a cold engine in high idle and gradually...
