    Settlement Warranty

Like CS said, get a tune to disable the EGR. In my case, I went with the GDE tune at 4700 miles. My great service manager agreed with the GDE tune because he knows 95% of my trips are under 10 miles r/t and the engine hardly reaches operating temps, the worst thing for a diesel. I only have...

EcoDiesel OBD II Flashing now available.

At least you have the ability to flash back to stock. Would be a real problem if that didn't work.

EcoDiesel OBD II Flashing now available.

That's good news. Now the better news will be how it performs. Keep the updates coming, very informative.

EcoDiesel OBD II Flashing now available.

There's another famous saying, "He who has your money cares not about completion". Sure hope it turns out well as it's a great improvement over shipping ECMs.

    2300 miles since new

Yes, it is. My point was you will void your warranty if you don't follow the FDC rules of changing the oil every x miles or once a year.

    2300 miles since new

Your "tested" oil would probably report it's okay to continue with it. The problem comes if you have an engine problem. FCA is going to deny paying for it because you did not follow their rule of changing the oil at least once a year. I have the same issue as I average 4-5000 miles per year...

EcoDiesel OBD II Flashing now available.

That's good news. What does "and it is to b unpluged" mean?

EcoDiesel OBD II Flashing now available.

PPEI doesn't offer much info. Does anyone know if it deletes or turns off the EGR? If it doesn't, IMHO it's worthless.

    Diesel fuel treatment

I used it every fill-up. Is it worth it? Depends on why you are using it.

    Losing fuel economy

I pass smog tests with GDE tune installed. And, here in Califunny we probably have the strictest smog test in the USA. Have not heard of anyone failing a smog test with a GDE tune installed.

    Losing fuel economy

I have to respectfully disagree with some of TC's statements. 1 - I have never heard of an ED problem resulting from using additives. 2 - The refinery chemist's statement "can possibly cause separation" is vague. Today's additives do not cause separation of the refinery's additives. Call any...

LTB ECU for GDE tune 2018 Ram Ecodiesel

Any unit you buy has to be flashed to/with your truck's VIN number. Any dealer can do that. Cost ranges from free to 75.00.

    Considering ED in California

Vern, Last I heard was PPEI still able to sell in CA but don't know if it shuts off EGR. I doubt that it does, that's probably why they are still able to sell in CA. Would like to know if someone else has the ability you mention. It would help a lot of Californians who can no longer get the...

    Considering ED in California

Bob, FCA did not intentionally cheat like Volkswagon, they failed to notify EPA of an emissions change which caused the furor at the almighty Federal and Califunny EPA departments. The soot problems are a result of the EGR system required by EPA. And, it is exacerbated when the vehicle is...

    Considering ED in California

Bob, You said, " FCD just agreed to a big settlement that will give owners a big cash payment to comp them for problems so that seems to support the case for many problems." That "big settlement" had nothing to do with past problems. It only had to do with the EPA emission system case...

    Considering ED in California

George, Sorry, haven't discussed either issue with him. I removed foam, etc. based on comments on various forums where overall consensus was it wasn't needed. Had no need regards Banks as I have the GDE tune. Have read about it but that's all.

    Considering ED in California

You may have answered your own question. Bob Herr makes sense but IMO he overstated the maintenance cost and perhaps the cost to own. I wouldn't argue those costs because for me I wanted the Ecodiesel. It's a matter of what do you want, decide and go for it. I would buy another Ecodiesel in...
