Here's what I posted on another forum:
Thanks to Califunny causing me to get out of my GDE tune I discovered SFT.
I just recently installed their stage 1 ECM and TCM tunes.
I'm happy to report they are performing as advertised and I am more than satisfied.
One nice surprise was the ECM tune...
Yep! You called it right. If GDE could still sell/support in Califunny I would still be a GDE customer.
It may have been a blessing as it forced me to look elsewhere and find a great alternative.
I have to disagree!
1 - I've tried both and find none of the points in the above declaring better, more, cleaner, less or vs are
exclusive to GDE. After trying both I can positively make the same statements about SFT.
2 - I have found SFT to be as advertised and have experienced 100%...
Yep, they sold out the day the 20% was announced. They have ordered more. If their site won't take your order send them an email or via their "Contact" page
If he goes with SFT he doesn't need a second ECM for dealer trips. As I understand the handheld SFT tuner, if going to the dealer you merely turn back to the stock FCA tune and when the dealer is done you return it to the SFT tune. Ditto for SFT's TCM tune
GDE and SFT both turn off the EGR. It's automatic on GDE, you select that option on SFT.
Don't know about PPEI. Have asked them that question, never got an answer and their website is lacking.
Well, since you brought it up and if you are referring to me:
1 - I didn't call you out as a liar. I merely wanted to know where you got the info you posted because cs in Alabama posted that GDE replied, "Not sure who posted that, but it was not us. If you have a stock ecm and GDE tuned ecm...
I find that post 715 is FCA 3.0L Diesel Settlement Website
I have followed that post from the beginning and have twice reread all the threads and still cannot find your reference.
Do you have a thread #?
Or am I looking at the wrong post?
Here's Gde and PPIE's competition - click on SFT
Cheaper and a very informative web site.
Their claim, "We are PROUD to be the FIRST to offer both ECU & TCM flash service via OBD2 on the RAM/JEEP EcoDiesel "
Soot is the Ecodiesel's demise and the EGR is the culprit. The GDE tune turns off the EGR soot maker. Your 22 mile commute to work is a positive, can't do better than that.
I have no experience with the Throttle Control Module codes or problems. Can't help you on that one, however, I have...
