New to forum But Not to Diesels

Thanks. Oil temp was (I think) 256F and tans was 215F? I will watch those closer next time and verify. It was a hot day (92F outside). Last oil change I put in LiquiMoly 5w30 synthetic that meets MS11106 spec. I have a Modis scanner updated to 15-4 update so I can monitor and activate whatever...

New to forum But Not to Diesels

Great! I will take you up on that. I tow a 6500lb travel trailer with my 2015 Eco. When pulling big hills (Eisenhower Tunnel, Wolf Creek Pass ... 6% grade for 8-10 miles) my coolant temp reaches 244F and stays there (4th gear 2900 rpm). It holds steady there but that number is a little high for...

New to forum But Not to Diesels

Welcome TC. Thanks for the info. So the new oil spec is T6 and no longer MS11106? Also, I agree about tuning. Fed requires CARB certification for any allowable modifications and this is Fed, not state rule. If your state does not have an emissions program you are still required to follow Fed...

Electronic Throttle Control Error - Dealer says its fuel injectors

I don't get the conclusion of fuel injectors from a boost leak / under boost code. I would have smoke tested the air intake and charge pressure system. I had the same codes on my 2015 when it had less than 100 miles on it. Found a pinched o-ring on the boost pressure sensor. Intermittent...

average MPG towing with the ecodiesel

Stan, you have a very similar trailer to the one I have in length, weight and that flat, angled front panel. My first tow with it was from Colorado to Iowa and back. 11-13 mpg. The roads in Iowa and Eastern Nebraska are horrible and the wind blew in one direction or another the whole time. I...

Who is towing what with their Ecodiesel?

What does the trailer weigh? From the one picture the truck looks a little low in the back. Maybe some adjustments to your weight distributing hitch will help.

    Overweight Detection by dealer

I am talking about a 5th wheel set up (pin in the center of the bed) v.s. a tag set up (pin on hitch behind rear bumper).

    Overweight Detection by dealer

(Trying this again, did it wrong the first time) 600# on a 6500# fifth wheel does not sound right to me. I think typically the pin weight on a 5th wheel is 25% of gvw. Only 10% on a tag. Just checking. ..

Finally got my trailer out and hooked up to my truck. First real pull this weekend but so far I love it!

    Factory Engine Braking Feature

How do I get the engine brake add on from Green Diesel? I can't find it on the website and I only seem to think about it when they are closed.

When to use the tow haul button?

Here is my understanding of tow/haul. The transmission has 2 ways to stay engaged. One is with hydraulic pressure in the torque converter and the other is the torque converter clutch (TCC). When the TCC is engaged the torque converter does not require fluid pressure from the transmission which...

what is safe to use on leather, dash, door panals ect...

This has not been my experience. Saddle Soap had always left my seats soft and has not caused them premature wear. As I said I have done it for years. I have tried products intended for automotive interiors and found them to leave the seats hard and plastic feeling. Fixed them with saddle...

what is safe to use on leather, dash, door panals ect...

I have used Saddle Soap on the leather seats in my cars for years. Cleans, conditions and softens the leather better than anything I have ever used. Never used it in my Eco, have cloth seats in it.

    Factory Engine Braking Feature

Thanks for the description of how your system works. How much does that update cost? Can we ask that question here?

    New EcoDiesel owner

Welcome. My truck is a 3.92 and I remember the spec sheet showed both. Dealer said it shows both because I have the package that has the 3.55 which then allowed me to have the package that has the 3.92. Hope that helps.

    Post your towing/hauling pictures!

I have a very similar trailer. Have not towed it yet with my Eco. Pulled it with my 2003 2500 Hemi just fine but looking forward to trying it out with the new truck.

    REGENS, how to tell??

I don't quite understand this thread. I am not talking about all the regen related topics but the regen question itself. My 2015 displays it in the dash. Tells me when I am at 80%, 90% and when regen is in process. Does not every truck have that?
