If you are paying all this out of pocket, why not get it tuned? Do you not have a warranty? The tune will stop the service throttle control light issues
Just looked up p003b as that’s probably what it is, since a capital b would look like an 8 on a digital readout. An actual code comes up. It’s an intake temp sensor code
They have a list that they have to work through, even though they don’t actually fix the problem. It’s based on the ecm and since they don’t have a flash update for it, you’re kinda SOL unless you decide to do a tune which fixes it, or you could drive around with a code scanner
question,
I’m gonna call GDE in the morning to verify but wanted to see if anyone could answer prior to that,
I think when I got the hot tune, I have a feeling I forgot to mention I wanted the off road tuning. Without certainty of having it, I unplugged a sensor on the dpf, and turned on the...
PPEI said the tune is switchable on the fly, and the selector is wired into the ECM and ran to the cab I presume. Below are the install instructions they emailed me
That I’m not sure about. I was actually wondering that myself. I’ll look more into it tonight, but this seems to be the closest anyone’s gotten to something other than a single allowed tune which is interesting
so I was looking for a tune on ppei today for a different engine and stumbled back over to the ecodiesel tunes and they now make an option that you can select between all the tunes they offer, for an extra 150$ (100 for the other tunes, 50 for the selector switch). I am mainly just throwing this...
If you tune to turn off the EGR but do not delete the dpf and the scr... I’m pretty positive you’re gonna gum up the works still because it’s not burning off the shit like it’s supposed to? I could be wrong, so if I am, someone please chime in to correct me, but it’s pretty much gotta go hand in...
Just filled up, and hand calc. 583.5 miles traveled 23.41 gallons filled. 24.9 mpg. EVIC is telling me 24.2. I am still waiting on my order to free up some flow post turbo, so once that comes in, I shall try again
I tried to replicate it this morning going in to work and I did not hear it at all. I could have just been imagining it, or it stopped, or it was wind fluttering against the mirrors or trim or whatever. I don’t know. But if any one has had this happen before, I would love to discuss it still...
Mine took about 30 minutes or so to do, they had to add update my ecm prior to flash, if yours is up to date going in, should only be like 15 minutes give or take 5.
i started to notice yesterday and today that it almost sounds like my turbo is sputtering around 2500-3000 rpm? Anyone ever have this occur? Any ideas what could cause that?
Got something ordered, it should be in sooner than later I believe. That’ll be when I’ll re-evaluate my mpgs. Although I’ll probably have to factor in the smiles per gallon too
