Halfway through my fresh tank and just going by the EVIC at the moment, I’m back down to 24mpg. I think the key is less restrictive flow past the turbo ;)
i made the day tripto Michigan today to visit the gentlemen at GDE and get my truck tuned. 4 hour ride fromdoor to door, 97% highway. I slapped on cruise control at 70-75mph and settled in. I was averaging 22.3 mpg. After arriving and getting the ecm flashed with the hot tune, I took off for the...
So I’ve come up with my solution. I’m taking a day trip to Michigan for GDE to Tune my truck. I’m tired of the P0299 code and Chrysler has their head up their asses with the computer flash so idc anymore. I’m gonna get my service done at my friends garage who is a very reputable diesel mechanic...
CAC delete may not be valid on your truck depending on the year. I have a 2017 and they removed that muffler tube on the hot side so it’s not necessary. That was straight from CFT as well
as the title implies, I’m looking at purchasing a used ECM off eBay to tune so I can leave my stock ecm intact. Does anyone know if there would be any issues using an older year ecm? If so why?
Thank you very much for your input! Never thought about the need to also upgrade the fuel system with all that added power in this dream  But yes, I will be starting with a tune first and foremost
I called a dealer about getting a service appointment, he said the software update to remedy the problem is being held up by the government because of the emissions litigation... SMALL GOVERNMENT IS WHAT WE WANT! for F***’s sake!
Okay, I do as well, just always remembered my friends with 3/4 ton diesels would always let them idle about a minute or so at a minimum before they’d shut them down.
I was thinking today I might hop on the highway and try to force a regen and see if that helps any.
If I were to trade it in, cummins will be my next platform engine, however, if tune and deletes help this issue because allowing the engine to breathe better, that’ll be the route I go first as...
Had the code show up 4 times in the last week, 3 times in the last 24 hours. My truck has 5200 miles on it. Went to the dealer today and they said FCA has no definite fix for this, and they have a list of shit to replace to see if that’s the solution, etc. they said they’ve seen this code on...
Okay, I guess that’s something I should’ve asked too. I just assumed that upgrading the stock turbo as well would be beneficial but probably is just throwing money at something for minimal gains. The H&S set up is still in the back of my mind on my list, but will probably be the last thing I end...
This is a valid point to consider for sure. I guess a simple tune and delete should suffice until either prices came down if at all, or maybe more people start to make more things if the engine sticks around for a while hopefully
