Not a fan of "foolers" myself. I'd rather have a true tuned ECM if you want a "tune" or more power/better fuel economy.

Spend a few days on the forums... many folks here have had no issues, some haven't been so lucky. But also remember, most don't join to brag how good their EcoDiesel are... so you have to account for more "good ones".

Some have.. some haven't. It's a gamble.

I can't honestly recommend the EcoDiesel if you're looking to go for the next 10 years on it. It's just proven to have many issues with emissions and many other things, like blown engines. If you're not towing a ton and your commute is that close, I'd strongly look into a gas engine.. but if...

I did not have those issues fortunately.. I'm now in a Duramax... for now. Wanted to be safe and not take the risk any longer.

Welcome! That's the dangers of having tuning for sure. Who's tuning were you using? Since the motor blew in their possession, I'd be pretty upset and maybe even lawyer up at this point. Did you call FCA customer care and start a case? At this point I would explore all options for a better...

No worries, I'm assuming the new extended emissions warranty is covering the costs for you? Hopefully so, those parts get expensive!

Welcome! A lot of users have had issues post update. Other than that, a few issues some major some minor.. I'd recommend reading around the forum as we've got plenty of info here.

Those will never be as good as a custom tuned ECM, but they are better than nothing.
