I've often tried to think of a way to do this, and rain-x is the only thing that comes to mind. Not sure it'll help much with the slushy stuff, but I'm also afraid of a film it might leave on the lens.
We can say that about most of the government to be fair... It's sad.

It's crazy since VW started this, it seems perhaps everyone is doing it? I guess we're about to find out.

You're always going to get better performance from a true "Flash" tuner. Products like this just "fool" the ECM and alters the signals.
I'm sure it works, but I'm not so sure how smooth or efficient it would be.
I see products like this as a band aid.
