Welcome!
Terrible the dealer didn't assist in the oil change.
I've ran MBRP products on previous trucks and never had an issue.. I wonder if all the pipes are like that or if you got a "Friday" product.
1250 degrees isn't terrible for a duramax engine. In fact, you'll see that temp while the truck is in regen mode (for 07.5 and newer). It's most likely you had an injector get hung and it burn a hole in the piston.
Maintenance, maintenance, maintenance. That's the biggest thing to worry about when having a diesel. Also, reading the forums and seeing what works for others and also what doesn't work is the best advice I can give right now.
Yes it is. Also, read up here.. it's not hard to change your own oil. Also, you can buy a nice oil drain valve and to help with oil changes in the future, it's basically no mess.
That's a great deal, and the powertrain warranty just puts the icing on the cake. I've always liked the looks of those smaller Toyota's but it's a no-brainer to have a full size truck that rides as good as the EcoDiesel does, and get the fuel mileage it does compared to the smaller offerings out...
Glad this forum is helping folks out. The sad thing is most dealers do not even know about this TSB!
Glad you found us, still around and let us know how it goes.
Welcome to the forum. :)
We're glad to have you here Gossman.
I bring up the off topic discussion just because and it's not at all required. Obviously, it's better for everyone with more ecodiesel content over anything.
I just like to give that freedom to the community.
