RECALL W58 - Crankshaft position sensor tone wheel may delaminate

Gentlemen (and ladies) - I thought I would bump this to the top of the forum(s) to see what the latest intelligence is from our community of Eco-Diesel owners. I realize there is another very long forum thread on this subject. But first - my comments: 1) The W58 recall seems like the...

    EGR Delete options question

Thanks for response. I think this is what I need: https://cb-engineer.com/products/jeep-ram-ecodiesel-egr-block-off-plates If anyone else has experience or advice on this "simpler" egr delete option, please speak up. And Stay Healthy, My Friends!

    EGR Delete options question

Very simple question: is there a EGR Delete option (kit) that removes only the recirc tube/pipe between the EGR cooler and the intake manifold? I'm asking in the spirit of Keep It Simple and as near-to-stock as possible AND easily reversible. 99% of EGR Delete discussion I see on here deletes...

    EGR Recall

My dealer says that I do not have to install the new software updates (ie AIM #2 FIX) when I do my EGR replacement. I'm waiting for updated EGR to arrive to schedule my appointment. She said the only downside is that I will continue to get reminders from Chrysler about doing the software...

    My adventure with SofaKingTuned

Just wanted to ask which product you used to blank off EGR. And my second question is did you need to unplug something or were you all set from a software standpoint. My understanding is that with my gde tune, I can blank off EGR and I am good to go.

    EGR cooler and reflash?

Oh come on, 1shadowsabre! :sneaky: I'm getting ready to go in for the replacement cooler, and that is exactly what I will tell them. I realize that - based on prelim reading of AIM #2 safety notice - I will not get an additional fuel/pollution controls warranty perk. Oh well. No means no. If...

    New gde tune

jsasadaxs tune review above stated that his truck is 1) shifting quicker, and 2) holding 8th gear (OD if you will...) much better. Was just curious if this is new feature of the GDE performance tune or did the gentlemen also buy GDE's tranny tune? I have the "old school" GDE performance only...

    Egr cooler

That's interesting, Mr. HoochRam - I would make sure they are not replacing with existing part, my apology if that sounds dumb, but someone else here was actually forced to do that to get their truck back on the road. I will add that since I have a "tuned" ECM, I will make it perfectly clear...

    Egr cooler

I'll just add that I have have also checked with my dealer yesterday after receiving the safety recall update above (that is the 2nd one btw) and they have told me NEW, IMPROVED part is not available yet and to call back in two weeks.

    Stage 1 Delete advice

a very belated THANK YOU for correcting my terminology. I was reading an earlier thread here after a search and somehow that was my take-away as definitions.

    Stage 1 Delete advice

Hope everyone's family is safe and sound during these Strange Days. I continue to follow this message board and absorb the Eco-Diesel collective experience. As part of that learning curve, I am now considering doing a Stage 1 EGR delete (using CB Engineering's plate kit). I already have a GDE...

GDE Tune Experience & Performance please share

Gosh, you ARE new to this Eco-Diesel world! So am I, but I was able to get my "tune" from GDE at the buzzer, so to speak, just before the EPA showed up at their shops late in the Summer of 2019 and threatened them with severe consequences ($$ I'll presume), forcing them to shut down and stop...

GDE Tune Experience & Performance please share

Very happy with my GDE Tune to date. I've put about 6000 miles on my 2015 truck since tune (installed at 16k) last Summer, I'm averaging 23-24 City driving and 26-28 mpg on the highway. Those numbers are from my dashboard calculator. I recently did my longest drive to date - a round trip from...

    My adventure with SofaKingTuned

Thanks for your updates - great read. I'm coming up on an oil change/service and I've just looked at your EGR tube picture (I'm changing at 5k intervals after buying my ED with 15k on it and installing the EDI tune just about immediately). WOW, is that ugly, and I have to believe mine would...

    LED lights

I'm going to bump this LED thread back to the top. I just installed $50 NINEO LEDs (H11s) into my 2015 Tradesman low beams that I ordered from Amazon. I did a lot of research - I googled "Top Ten LED lights in reflector housings sold on Amazon..." or something like that. And BOOM- there is...

It's Official! EGR Recall notice to me from NHTSA

Well that's interesting (said the new, recent Dodge Ram 1500 Eco-Diesel owner...). it sounds like maybe they are trying to design/deploy a BETTER or improved EGR cooler (?), or will they require periodic inspection for replacement with existing design (regardless of status of your factory...

    Transmission Tune experience?

Now that I have a couple thousand or so miles with my 2015 Eco-Diesel - and it's transmission - I'm curious about the Pros and Cons of transmission tuning. I may need to go into my owner's manual to learn a bit more, but so far my only complaint would be that it seems to downshift to a lower...

    Def for ecodiesel

Guys - this is an interesting topic. If someone could please expand a little bit on the Negatives of going with standard DEF vs. diluted DEF, much appreciated. I think I've convinced myself after reading a couple tech articles (and John has helped...) that I shouldn't be concerned with...

So close then had the door closed on my fingers

Oh brother, what to do... Thanks for the update from the other forum. You guys will appreciate this "between rock and hard place" conversation with wife (Chief Financial Officer mind you...): "But honey, it DIDN'T cost me $1300 bucks, I'm getting $500 back for sending them my stock ECM...

So close then had the door closed on my fingers

Interesting experience and good to hear that they replied to PayPal. I received my GDE ECM last week, couldn't do install till today. Working GREAT but I still have to return my stock ECM AND get my core charge back! I'm confident that these guys will take care of me - they were very helpful...
