I think it will be some software update rather than replacing the actual reluctor wheel... This is the recall, W58. I'm candian too, I called my dealership, and they only hear about it when I asked, then she read what the w58 was and this is what she told me, but she said it won't be available...
I just heard today that RAM is recalling the reluctor wheel, call your dealer, parts won't be available until next year, but hopefully you won't be out of pocket! It was literally just announced Aug 12th. Even my dealer didn't know about it until I asked.
Yes, if you run alfa or torque pro apps with an obdii scanner, you can track your regens, if not, be aware that they happen without you knowing very frequently. Hense the fires, you have exhaust temps going up to 1200F or higher during a regen so frequently with a stock tune, imagine a tiny...
AGREED!! Easy way to check is the cruise control test... There's no way you have GDE if you are regening every 100 miles.. That sounds like stock or maybe a different tune??
Apparently, recall is to begin Dec 13th.

I had mine replaced in Feb, it was about 2-2.5 hrs if they actually have a proper diesel mechanic on site, probably 4 if there's some mechanic that doesn't know the difference between a diesel and a gas engine working on it...
Just out yesterday...

OMG is FCA finally listening to us, or to NTSB?? Looks like there's an egr cooler recall in the works coming, due to the "few fires" - ha that's a joke, FEW? About time FCA does something about it! Hopefully they find a fix and not just put the same POS egr cooler back in...
a regen every 3 weeks is normal if you're gde tuned. If you're stock, regens happen probably every 2-3 days without your knowledge. The only way you know it's in regen is if you have an obdii reader. Regen's start at 66% soot levels on a stock tune, and 80% on a gde tune.
I don't...
you can get some decent obdii readers off of amazon for $20-25, and use torque pro app on your phone for $5, great app that do what you need for little $$ if you need more, there's alfaobd
I agree with carlhenry. it's a good truck if you get a good one, but so many have had major problems with them, while mine is good so far, I worry every day, what'll happen tomorrow if my engine goes on me and I still have 2 years of financing left! I've never felt this way about any vehicle...
when you did wide open, were you holding the brakes to do a tire spin? holding brakes and throttle pedal will trigger this code as the computer thinks the throttle is stuck when you tap the brakes. Other than that, check the MAP sensor for caked on carbon.
I thought they charged 150? not that they are an option at this time anyway... hopefully their doors will reopen soon. from what I hear, they are doing some testing but that will take 6-9 months before they release any new tunes.
more people need to report the fires when they happen to either transport canada or NHTSA in the USA for them to investigate and put some pressure on FCA to get off their ass and find out why their trucks are catching fire... That's the only way we can be heard from the big FCA giant, is to get...
clean the MAP sensor in your intake. Probably all caked in soot... not sure about the transmission issue, how's your coolant levels, could you be leaking coolant? search youtube for ecodiesel map sensor cleaning- some good vids of where it is and how to remove it, pretty easy to do.
you could always run a HUGE diesel generator to generate the power to run the charging station. Oh wait, EPA will shut it down if someone tunes it to run efficiently...
