I got an update from SFT, but I still have the issue although it is better. The warm-ups idle is higher and it shifts while driving when it's not up to temperature. So there is improvement with the updated flash but still work to do.
Was the check engine light on or just the message in the information? If this is the case and you have a scanner all you need to do is clear codes, start the truck and it will be gone so that you can drive it.
This is a documented problem for the 2015 and 2016 EcoDiesel.
That's what I think too, but since there are no MIL codes they want it back to the stock tune before going further to diagnose. Why would my tune all of a sudden be a problem after working perfectly for 3 weeks. I don't think so, but whatever. I'm going to flash it again and see what...
So this happened this week...
Last friday I started the truck and was leaving the parking lot when all of a sudden the message center said "Service electronic Throttle Control". It seemed to be running fine and I was able to get home. I scanned the computer with my Autel MaxiCOM tablet scanner...
So far with my tune here in MN I'm averaging 22 (hand calculated at fill ups) with 80% highway @ 70-75 mph. When I go 60-65 I get 26 mpg according to the instant on the computer vs my 22-23 @ 70-75.
I'm having an issue with the engine stalling after start-up and running for 1-2 seconds when it's below 30 degrees outside. I can hit the start button a 2nd time and it will start right up and keep running. If I used the OEM remote start it will not allow me to try and restart it remotely, I...
Thanks. That's what I was thinking too, but was hoping to hear otherwise because stock the towing capacity is like 7650 which seems low, especially for a diesel when I see 1/2 tons pulling bigger campers pretty regularly in the summer.
I just got my 2016 EcoDiesel last month and immediately did the SFT stage 1 ECM and TCM tune a week after picking up the truck. What I'm wonder is if anyone is towing with their EcoDiesel and if so how much are they towing? Wife and I found a 5th wheel trailer we would like to get, but it's 9600...
IMHO... Stanadyne Diesel Fuel Addative is the BEST! I buy it on Amazon.com. You only need just under 1/2 of a bottle at fill up since our tank is 26 gallons and a bottle is for 60 gallons. Every review site you find will have it at the top!
I gotta hand it to GM on this one. I really like the multi-functionality of their tailgate. I wonder how it will hold up over time because I can see them as being an expansive headache once our good friend corrosion starts to creep in.
Well I went and checked it out. I had to ask myself where's the power, where's that fun diesel. There was no throw you back in your seat torque. I passed on it and when I got home I checked out the 2014 that was powerful and fun to drive. It has not had the recall done so I believe that I now...
Thank you for the response.
The truck I am looking at is a loaded Laramie for 26k. It does come with the transferable 5yr/100k warranty and since they did the reprogram it has 4yr/45k of full coverage on the drivetrain, so only an extra 5000 miles over the 100k. I was going to do the GDE hot...
Thanks for looking. I'm looking to buy a 2016 EcoDiesel with 60k. It's been at the dealership for 6 months now and they claim that the used car manager has been using it since its gained 2k miles and now it's going back up for sale since he's driving a different vehicle now. They are selling it...
