If you want 30mpg, you'll need to slow the hell down. You ain't gonna get it driving 75 mph.

I have driven 60-65 same (slightly better 1 mpg or so) results. I love my truck and I am happy with 24 or so on the highway, but I would be happier with 27-30 mpg.

I have a 2016 and my highway speed is usually 80-85 mph. At that speed and a relatively flat Texas highway I get 27-28. Add some hills and I get 23-24 at that speed. Hope I don't jinx myself but this truck rides awesome and runs great.

Hi
On on I-5 trips in Washington to Vancouver, I was getting 33 mpg (USA) on my 2015 ram. I got 25000 Keon my 2016 and have never been able to get near those numbers again

I have been recording the fuel consumption from new and did replace the ECU at 15000 miles with a unit from GDE. After the ECU upgrade the fuel consumption was improved slightly (approximately 2mpg) but more important cleaner oil was obtained and better engine power / respond. My best tank resulted in 32.3 mpg and the worst was 25.6 mpg without towing my trailer. I mostly keep 65 to 70 mph during highway.

I drive a 2016 Eco and avg 27-28 MPG for mostly highway driving. Mph is 65-70. I tried cheaper Def and dropped to 25-26 MPG and went back to Peak Blue. I have a K&N air filter, but haven't seen a difference in MPG since I installed it about 3-4 months ago. I'm very happy with mine. I change the oil every 6,000 miles and rotate the tires. It's been very reliable.

Ram&Camper.jpeg I just got back from a 1,654 mi trip to WV, Pigeon Forge TN, and East Asheville/Sugar Pine NC. Lowest mileage I saw when towing my 5,700 lb 24ft travel trailer was 13.5. While on the Camp Creek WV to Pigeon Forge leg, I had the check engine light come on. I took it to a RAM dealer (Rocky Top) right in the area of I-40 & State Rt 66 near Sevierville TN. (They were GREAT! They squeezed me in and it took about 1 hour!) They read the codes and saw: 1) Over fueling condition and, 2) Low voltage condition. They cleared the codes and told me while they had it, they were going to overwrite the computer with the NEW program without the 8 "cheat codes". I still saw a low of 13.5 towing. I will report back to see if I have any changes in my over the road and local usage. Was getting as high as 28.7 on a long trip and 19 - 23 around town (some interstate Hwy travel back and forth to work for the higher numbers). Stay tuned.....(Mine is still stock!! Hahah) Speaking of stock tune, I can't wait till the lease is up and I buy her out. With the stock tune, I was pulling up a 5% grade for about 2 miles (I-64 WB near Sandstone Mountain) had throttle to the floor, in 5th gear, she would not climb past 55-56 mph, was spinning about 3,600 rpm. Saw coolant temps near 230 and oil temps near 260. She cooled right back down after that pull and she is still together!! I think she is a "keeper"!

Well this just got interesting. I now have 53,500 miles on truck and fuel mileage still sucks. Got a check engine light on the way home so stopped and had code read, P026c. Also noticed on the rest of the ride home my fuel mileage got better.

My 2015 was giving me up to 33mpg. Can’t get anywhere near that with my 2016. Both we’re outdoorsman, ecodiesel, same gearing, same options, different color.
One thing I did notice I’d that there is a sweet spot, on both trucks, where I got the best mileage and that was on cruise at 110 km per hour, or 70 mph..
Going over that is fine but I’m using up a lot more mileage.
Towing a little utility trailer, about 1500 lbs at 139kph/80mph and I’m down to over 13litres per 100kmkm or
18 mpg.
Doing the trailer at 70 is a heck of a lot better

I have a similar issue with poor fuel economy. Before purchasing my 2014 eco diesel with 45,000 miles I was looking at another eco with 60,000 miles. When driving the 60,000 truck I avg 28.7 miles to the gal. I chose to purchase the 45,000 mile truck, however traveling the same route the best that I have achieved is 23.7. I know nothing about these diesels...I like the dodge and especially the fuel economy. What could be causing this MPG variation?

Have you taken it to the dealer and expressed your concern?. You could have a issue with your emissions equipment i.e EGR stuck open or something else. When I run cruise control my mileage sucks when i keep RPMS around 1850 cruising at 65-70 I see 26-30MGP when I tow 4k I see MPG at 55MPH as that is the max in CA I see MPG 18-20. You defiantly have something wrong that needs looking at

I have a 2015 Ram 1500 ecodiesel with 34,000 miles. 1.55 gear ratio and full size topper. 90 percent of my driving is interstate and about 25 percent of that is pulling a 3,000 lb trailer. I have never once gotten over 21 mpg. Usually average 18 to 19 mpg with out trailer and 12 - 14 with trailer. After having topper installed mileage dropped about 1 mpg to the current 18 - 19 mpg. Never had a code or any other problems. Generally drive 75 - 78 mph.
Anyone have any idea what might be going on? I've bought fuel in at least 10 different states so know fuel isn't the problem. Hope this is not a cam timing gear slip issue.
Sounds about right. Slow down to about 65-68 like me and hit 24ish. With the gde tune I hit 27-29. 70+ kills the mileage crazy fast. Mine is a 4x4.
