Looks good man. The paint really puts the finishing touches on it.. Doesn't look like a DIY project at all!

Individual gear ties so you can lock each rod in in front of the reel?

Yessir. Pretty slick at their job too.

Yeah but they only last about a year and a half here, between using them and moisture it's just a solid steel wire inside they end up breaking at the common twist points. But i'll agree aside from longevity that those gear ties are very nice

POR-15 would be a good option here because it is raw steel.

Yes. And if it does rust up it'll get that done. Rack sees minimal use and is currently stored. Worked really well tho for transport and as a rigging station.
