Yep I am down sizing, life change per sa, will not be towing anything bigger that what the ECO can pull, and the ride is so much better,

Pin weight / weight of trailers I was towing, my last big trailer we have is a 43 ft toy hauler, and it is up for sale. Only have a 20 ft trailer now that I plan on keeping, that my tractor fits on if I need to take it somewhere, or pick up stuff.

IMG_1134.JPG 2001 Dodge 1500 QC 4x4. It had a 5.9 V6.5 lost compression on Cylinders 3 and 5. I wanted a diesel but my 01 Cummins was such a lemon I really didn't want another one. Dealer asked if I had driven an Ecodiesel. The rest is history.

That was a nice looking combo but I can imagine the little DuraMax struggling a bit more than one would like with that boat.

Honestly it didn't struggle & towed the boat fine. It's an impressive little engine. The boat loaded out is probably between 5-6k lbs.

My only real reason for trading was missing the room of a full size.

what kind of fuel mileage did you get with the duramax empty?

My Canyon/Duramax showed a lifetime mpg (12k miles) of 24-25 mpg. That included mixed driving and some towing.
An average tank of fuel with mixed city & highway was 24-25 mpg. On the interstate at 75 mph it would do 26-27 mpg. On two lane back roads at 55-60 mpg it would show 30-32 mpg. Honestly, that's good mpg but when you consider how much larger the Ram is, if the Ram can do a long term average of 22-23 mpg mixed driving then it's well worth the difference for the larger truck.

That's good numbers..but I will agree I expected better from that GM lineup with the full size ram right there with it.

Yes, the more I read about the Ram mpg, the more I felt the canyon / colorado should've been better.
